We were the only two people in the room, and on the entire floor. Anything could happen now, and no one aside the both of us would truly know what transpired. Since this room was used to plan the most confidential strategies, it made sense that there were no CCTV security installed.
For someone seeking to get rid of me, there was no better time to get it done. I had just sent most, if not all the warriors back to get ready. Not too long along, I ordered for all packs to go on an emergency lockdown, until we were able to retrieve all the rogues. It would cause us more trouble if we had a hostage situation on our hands at such a crucial time.
Even if someone did come, depending on the person sent to kill me, I might already be dead before they arrive, considering that the hitman was someone close. Close enough to know my weaknesses.
My eyes dwindled once more to the knife and a chuckle escaped my lips.
