I didn't know why, but when Valerie said that she believed Kian was dying, I felt that she was saying the truth, like I could trust her words. Which made it all the more painful for Ralph and I, because we believed her.
"What do you mean my mate is dying?" I raised my voice, startling the poor woman with my tone. She wasn't going to cooperate any faster if I got angry with her, first and foremost I wanted to understand this whole dying business.
She pressed her lips and closed her eyes as though struggling with telling me, but then she summoned her courage and properly explained it to me.
"I saw Kian's future, or at least a possibility of his future, and in the vision I saw, Kian was going to die, most likely on the date he circled on his calendar." Valerie said, letting me in on something very important.
Kian fucking knew he was dying, and yet he didn't say shit about it to me!
