Chereads / The Mate You Give / Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

Davien's P. O. V

In a soul-stirring moment of connection, our lips met in a tender, passionate kiss. The world around us faded into insignificance as Kian's scent pushed up my nose.

At first he was hesistant and didn't move his tongue, but seconds into it he closed his eyes and kissed back fiercely. With each touch, my insides burned for him, his taste, his feel, his scent. Our tongues danced with a harmonious rhythm, exploring the depths of each other's mouth.

My palm caressed his cheek whilst his fingers tangled in my hair, pulling me closer to him. I could feel that our bodies were responding to the magnetic pull between us. Perhaps the mate bond?

At that moment I couldn't care what it was, I moved my lips against his, an electrifying sensation pulsed throughout my body dancing to my toes.

I wanted more.

I wanted more of him.

"Haa…Aah…" Kian's moans sounded in my ears, he pulled away for breath, closing opening his eyes, his tongue rested on his lower lip, whilst his chest slowly elevated as he caught his breath.

"Damn," I said driven by lust, it was my first time kissing a man, but it felt fucking good, I wanted to kiss him…make him mine….

My eyes darted to his exposed neck, every inch of me wanted to sink my teeth into his skin and mark this pup before he could get away. His scent was strongest in his neck, I could tell just from the times we had been close.

"Don't do it." Kian whispered softly covering his neck with his palm, the gesture drew me out of my trance, until I realized my fangs were out and my face was only inches away from his neck.

I rolled off him and sat at the bedside, I couldn't face him, not now…not with the hard boner bulging in my pants.

"Tch, ngh…" Kian groaned under his breath, I felt his weight shift from the bed onto the wooden floor. He took steady steps towards the door, leaving without a single goodbye.

Cruel, wasn't he?

"I'll message you if I need to tell you something." He announced then left without hearing back from me. Hearing the door close, I buried my upper face in my palm, whilst my other hand dived into my pants.

I caught a glimpse of a red patch of blood on the sheets, "Damn you Kian." I cursed, that pup left knowing his wound had reopened!

The next morning I was faced with the council of elders to explain my impulsive decision of bringing my mate back with me to the estate.

Father spearheaded the meeting, insisting that Kian be returned from wherever it was I picked him up and the mating process between Silvia and I be accelerated. This banter went on for half an hour without me making a single input. It wasn't until they had had their fill of insults, that my opinion was sought after.

"So tell us Alpha, is there anything you have to say?" The bitch who punched dared to ask, drawing their little chat to a close.

Tired, I rose from my seat, "I've listened to you lot run your mouths for half an hour, and my decision still stands. Kian's not leaving." I firmly declared.

"Alpha you should reconsider, he's an unstable runt, just how at how rude he acted yesterday. He was fortunate he fainted Midway through." Gretel inserted, earning affirmative nods from the others.

"You're no longer a pup, you're twenty six years old and the Alpha. Night Howlers pack is increasing in numbers at a fast pace, we need you to step up and take more responsibility. Take Silvia for example, she just secured a deal that'll earn her good returns. The same deal you were pining for, if only we had merged our businesses a monent sooner…"

"Enough with that bullshit!" I cut him off banging my fist against the oval table, creating a dent in it.

The elders flinched, father blinked twice taken aback by my sudden outburst. However he recovered and straightened his back.

"See, this is the sort of reckless attitude you should grow out of." He said, just trying to throw me off more than I already was.

I pulled my fist out and dusted it against my black pants.

"You think I'm neglecting my duties as Alpha? I'm just fooling around and wasting eveyone else's time? Do I need to remind you every last one of you that for the past seven fucking years not one the missing rogues have been recaptured!" I raised my voice to them, hitting them with the cold truth.

"We've wasted seven years running around in a circle, while those wolves go through a hell we can only imagine. Get married to Silvia, reject my mate, merge the business…. Come talk to me about this once we've reassured the families of these missing wolves that their children will be found."

For the past years I had to lie with a smile to every family, giving them false encouragement that their family would be found soon. Yet, none one of the elders ever brought up the issue at these worthless council meetings.

"Son, we're trying everything within our power to…" father was saying, but I didn't have the time to listen to anymore bullshit. I employed all my composure not to punch someone's face into the wall.

"No," I shook my head, "None of you are doing a damned thing because your family members are all safe and sound behind the main estate walls. Did you know, that all the missing rogues were all the children of the lower ranked wolves living at the outskirts of the estate?" This was research I had come about five years ago.

However, at the time I couldn't do anything because I hadn't become Alpha yet. And even when I did manage to, father hadn't gotten off my arse about the business and the mating issue.

But seeing how wolves physically disadvantaged were made to suffer for it, and how the ones looking after them turned a blind eye to it, I couldn't stand it.

I made for the door.

"Alpha…"

"Kian stays, and whosoever tries to even touch a single strand on his head, better be prepared to answer to me." I shifted my eyes to a crimson red, sounding the final warning across to them all.
