Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Davien's P. O. V

Speaking of the devil, the bastard in a beige suit emerged from the lounge area, with his beta, matthew in tow, along with some allies of his.

Picking up on his father's scent, Leo hastily turned around and rushed to meet him, his friends scurried along, putting up the most angelic faces.

"What's going on here?" Renold asked, taking a sweep of the situation. His eyes deflected to Silvia, then settled on Ivan, who kept his head to the ground.

I picked up the strong scent of fear and disdain from the kid, Silvia must've noticed it too, because she possessively stood in front of Ivan, shielding him from Renold's antagonizing glare.

"Is that runt causing more trouble?" His words came in a seemingly confident tone, as though he was just waiting for something like this to happen.

"Father! That stupid Omega stepped on me and won't lock my shoe clean. And when I tried to teach him a lesson…" Leo took a pause and looked over his shoulder at me.

"That man came in between and tried to stop me."

Alpha Renold frowned, "Alpha Davien, I don't believe we've formally met before now. But I believe you're well aquatinted with my daughter. Aren't you?"

I scoffed, "You know about that better than I do."

My answer made me roll his eyes, he placed his hand on his son's shoulder and pulled his lips back into a half smile.

"Father is here now, I'll make things right, just stand by and watch." He spoke soothingly, then ruffled Leo's blonde hair, causing the kid to grin maliciously.

Renold straightened his back and ironed his features, "Ivan! Come here now!" His loud voice, caused the kid to shrink back in fear. Although he was clearly unwilling to heed to that command, Ivan stepped away from Silvia and marched over to him.

However, I didn't let him get a step closer. I held him by the wrist, and made him stand next to me. The pup's entire body was paralysed in fear, he didn't resist me, but I couldn't sense any acceptance either.

"Alpha Davien, just what do you think you're doing? This is a private matter among the halfmoon pack. You shouldn't interfere." Renold narrowed his eyes.

"From what I saw, this is more than just a simple misunderstanding. Those kids said somethings that I can't let slide." I retorted sharply, returning his glare.

More guests from the lounge area returned to the hall in pairs, they noticed the scene happening and slowly started to flock around.

Matthew stepped forward and whispered something into Renold's ear, probably telling him to let the issue go. But Renold clicked his tongue and shook his head.

Intensifying his gaze, he shifted his eyes to a tinted yellow, "Ivan, are you deaf? I'm not going to repeat myself! Come here…now!"

Ralph growled inside, he took Renold's eye shift as a challenge and wanted me to show this bastard who was superior in this situation.

I took a step forward, but Silvia abruptly stood in front of me, blocking both of us from doing anything.

"Wait just a minute, let's all cool our heads and be adults about this. Kids fight amongst themselves all the time, it isn't right to play favorites." Towards the latter part, she also shifted her eyes, reminding us both that she was an Alpha too.

And one not to be fucked with too. I could sense her anger, and it far outwitted mine, hence I backed off, and let Ivan's wrist go.

Renold as well took the hint and reverted his eyes, he straightened his clothes and huffed. "Stupid kid, I'll make sure to teach you a lesson."

Murmurs and indiscriminate whispers flooded all corners of the hall, the next speaker for the seminar was supposed to be addressing everyone, but this just had to go and happen.

I looked to Ivan, he was a hot mess, his eyes wouldn't stop quaking in fear, I felt the urge to protect him. But he wasn't my pack, and there were too many things going on to pick a fight with Renold over this.

"May I have everyone's attention please?" Carol's voice from the podium stole all our attention, drawing our gazes to her.

Silvia's most especially, I noticed her stare intently at her, to the extent that she forgot to shift her eyes back to it's normal blue hue.

She was a sharp contrast to Renold and his pack members who wouldn't even look in her direction. And even if they did, it was nothing more than sneers and glares.

Someone must've told them about her losing her wolf…those sick bastards.

"The last speaker has just arrived in the building, and will address you now." She announced with a smile, then turned to leave. However, the conflicted look lingering in her eyes made her turn back and stand in front of the microphone.

"May I just take a second, to say thank you for all the wonderful mentors who came over to honour my grandfather's wish. I didn't get to spend much time with him, but I can tell that he would be pleased with all the good we're trying to do. Without wasting anymore of our time…"

This scent…why is it here? I frantically looked around trying to find just where it was coming from.

"Allow me to introduce the first ever OmegMentor...Kian Saint." Carol excitedly announced, clapping her hands as he mounted the podium, and stepped forward.

She gave him a hug and stepped aside for him to stand in front of the microphone, the entire hall turned dastardly silent, as everyone had their eye on him.

On my mate.

He had half his hair brushed forward, and dressed in a warm brown turtle neck and white pants. He wore a long full moon earring on his left ear, and a diamond silver band clipped on his outer lobe.

—"Did she say Omega?"

—"Isn't that Silvia's younger brother? You know the one who just got back?"

—"You mean the one who stole her fiance?"

The deafening silence was soon replaced with loud whispers, as shifters everywhere all had an opinion or two about him

My mind spiraled back to the conversation we had this morning, and all the questions he had about the seminar.

"So that's why he wanted to know?" I voiced under my breath, grinning from ear to ear. "If he was coming here too, we should've just come together." I couldn't help but think.

However, what Kian said next, turned the entire seminar into an uproar.

He gracefully tapped the mic to draw our attention, then placed his lips close and announced…

"An Omega is capable of killing an Alpha."
