"Will you cease your incessant pacing? You're making me dizzy!" Henrik hissed, his brow furrowing as he glared at Eve. The weight of their predicament pressed heavily upon them both, the tension in the room was palpable.

"He said he would handle the Hunchback," Eve replied, her tone tinged with a mix of apprehension and uncertainty. Maximilian had assured her that he had a plan, urging her to remain silent about her own abilities. He warned her of the danger that lurked within the mansion's enchantments, explaining that now was not the time to reveal their true strength. But Eve couldn't fathom how he intended to overcome the formidable traps that could easily dispatch any vampire, not to mention the eerie effect the enchantments had even on the butlers themselves.
