Helios coming out of the restroom dried his hairs laying down beside Poseidon who played video games with Ezekiel. Xavier sitting under the air conditioner enjoyed the eternal bliss which he had missed for long. A loving gleam escaped his lips as he read his course book.
"Happy?" Ryan asked sitting beside him.
Xavier gave out an angelic beam, "Hm!"
Ryan smiled back relieved.
"So we are all going home right?" Helios asked turning around, resting a pillow under his chin.
"Yup! I will go meet my master!" Adam yelped raising his hands up.
"Shh… speak softly or else, you might wake him up. Already too much noise is coming from upstairs." Cassiel pointed at Kenzo.
Adam covered his mouth nodding, "Right… that fake king might wake up.
On the floor, Kenzo was fast asleep, a small cushion supporting his neck, he snored softly, with a lone earplug nestled in his left ear. His gray hairs swayed in rhythm with his breathing. Remarkably, Kenzo's sensitivity to noise was evident, as even the most minuscule of sounds could elicit a subtle twitch in his fingers.
"Geez… look at how he's sleeping. It seems as if he hasn't slept for ages." Seraph stood up, covering him with a bed linen. "As for going back, I will go back home too." he added.
"Me too." Cassiel continued.
"I will go back as well." Feng said.
"Everyone is going in general." Heber summarized.
Hearing Heber, Ezekiel flinched in between. His eyelashes drooping in melancholy, he stared at the PSP screen which went blank after a minute of inactivity.
"Everyone from our side is going back home too." Damian came out of the room.
"Yup, me too!" Mikael, Christopher and Ebraham jinxed together. "Hehe…" they laughed.
"But instead of going home we'll visit our academies first to get our results. It's like doomsday tomorrow…" Silas sulked sitting in front of Kenzo.
"Results?!" the middle schoolers asked puzzled.
"Yeah, we gave our exams the time you were all away." Christopher broke the news.
"THE HELL?!" Feng, Heber, Azazel, Adam and Cassiel shrieked as the rest looked at each other surprised.
"Shh…!" Seraph warned pointing at Kenzo who flinched once again.
"Then, what about our exams?" Poseidon inquired worriedly.
"Don't worry, the base has already made amendments for you all. You'll be giving your exams right after the PSL if I remember correctly… yeah, you all will."
"No way~" Ryan cried as Feng slapped his forehead speechless.
"Do we seriously have to work this hard~?" Heber cried.
"But isn't it a good thing we didn't lost our chance to give our exams or else our academic progress would've declined an awful lot." Xavier encouraged.
"So says the Genius, what about us?" Azazel rolled his eyes, "I am seriously doomed."
"Haha… that's why we told you to study as well." Aryan sat on the couch on his feet side.
"But I'm sure you'll do just fine brother." Ines smiled at Gabriel who nodded lightly.
"I am prepared too." Helios told.
"Right! Alan was with us too, what about him?" Feng turned around to find Alan and Kazuna both sitting on a couch at the corner of the room engrossed in their own world.
Kazuna wearing his glasses scrolled his
"What in the world…? Were they even here?" Claude realized.
"Yup, they were here the whole time." Seraph informed.
"I wonder what they are up to though." Feng stood up heading over as Adam, Heber and Azazel followed.
"Bayton Roy… Scwenzer Nigel…" Alan mumbled scratching the pen through his hairs. Crouching before him Feng asked, "What about your exams Alan?"
Alan who was busy sorting through papers replied, "Hm…? Oh, I was in America for a while, so I was in a highschool there. I gave all my exams before coming back. And, if they will have any other mock up exams or monthly tests coming up, they'll inform me beforehand or book my date. I can easily give them when I go back. It doesn't interrupt my academic performance at all."
Feng sat stunned thinking, "Wow, what a school. I wish we had one like that here as well. Save me the trouble of even take classes…"
"Hm?" Kazuna asked removing his headphones and looking at Azazel who looked back at him surprised, "Do you really wear glasses?"
Kazuna removed his glasses passing it to him, "No, these are just for temporary use. I can't let my eyesight get weak while looking in these devices so I wear one before using a computer, television or phone."
Azazel wearing it blinked his eyes, "Wow… it's like he has no number at all." he showed it to Heber.
"It's -0.25." Kazuna told.
"Ah, near sighted glasses." Heber realized.
"Then why are you wearing it?" Ryan asked Alan.
"It's a dummy. Just for fun." Alan removed them handing it to Ryan who inspected it.
"Show me, show me!" Adam urged.
Alan stared at the screen squinting his brows. "Are you watching the Asian cup matches?" Xavier asked sitting beside him.
"Yes, Liam losing his sight is troubling. How long will it take for him to recover and who did it. I just can't sit still. I want to find it out." Alan replied stern.
"Pardon me for interrupting… why are they making so much noise then?" Theo asked pointing at the floor above where high schoolers were gathered cheering and screaming.
"They are also watching the Asian cup matches, since, Liam was part of the same team in the entire tournament they are too many matches to watch in less time. So, upstairs Nagi, Isa and Zachariah are also studying them." Kazuna replied.
"Oh…" Silas and Jonah nodded.
"Little genius…" Alan called.
Xavier hearing him asked, "Yes?"
"What do think about Liam's condition? In your opinion… what might've happened? Did you click a clue?" Alan asked.
"There can only be two cases, first something happening within a match due to an opponent's ability and the other outside the match or simply in his own free time just like ours right now. However, as I think what if this is related to his own ability?" Xavier spoke his thoughts.
Kazuna and Alan glanced at each other.
"Like…?" Alan asked.
Xavier thought hard, "How do I explain…?"
"Like backfiring of abilities." Seraph told, "In other words, just like activating Syncro or Roaring or any other ability forcefully gives a backlash to the user. What if his own ability or doubles ability created this backlash?"
"Ah!" Alan gasped, "I didn't even had this in mind! After all, he has Dominance with Lee Min-Ho."
"Just like seniors told, Senior Liam rarely went out alone except for his balling practice where he didn't met anyone suspicious, if after checking all the matches there are no abilities that point any one suspicious do check if an ability had backfired or not." Xavier suggested.
Kazuna nodded.
"I'll go and inform Isa and Nagi as well." Alan stood up.
However, at the moment loud shouts of cheering and clapping came. "YAHOO!! AND IT'S A SIX!! AWESOME!!"
The middleschoolers flinched, Cassiel's book falling on the ground with a 'Thud!' Kenzo too woke up baffled, his heart beating wildly.
"Auugh~!!" Kenzo slapped his face sitting straight. "Those damn bastards…!" he cursed grabbing his forehead which throbbed.
"Here, you go. Drink some water." Damian patted his back handing him a glass of water.
"Are they crazy?" Mikael asked in disbelief.
Alan heading to the stairs called out, "Quiet down a little all of you. You are making too much noise!"
"Hello, Alan." Aigou waved hanging on the rail, "What is it?"
Alan twitched his brow. "Did he not hear a single word I said?" he thought annoyed.
"Call Isa down would you, Aigou?" Alan asked.
"Alright." Aigou replied leaving.
"And Keep it down a little!" Alan added.
Instantly, Senri slammed the doors of the dorms coming inside. "I am back~" he greeted removing his shoes. Carrying a large plastic box in his arms, he came inside. "Water please… I am parched." he panted as Alan headed to the kitchen.
"Where were you Senri?" Isa asked coming downstairs. "Coach Nidou called me." he told standing in between the middle schoolers. "Look, look. What I got!" he called the middle schoolers over.
Ezekiel looking at Poseidon peeked inside the plastic box to find their phones resting inside. "Our Phones!!" Azazel picked his one over joyed.
"Finally." Poseidon took his own and Helios's out passing it to him.
"Are the coaches not scared anymore to hand us back our phones?" Adam asked doubtful.
Senri laughed, "Haha! Aren't you all going back to visit your homes tomorrow? Or, would you like to go without them?"
"No thanks, I don't want to get lost." Ryan took his phone lying down on the couches.
"Well…" Senri sat down on the floor keeping a pillow behind his back, he scrolled down. "The entire social media is stormed with the news of Pakistan claiming victory in the Asian cup and the commencement of PSL and most of all IPL finals… I don't even feel like looking at that."
"You're right, everyone is super hyped for tomorrow's match in India." Xavier agreed.
