Chapter 192 - (Part 11)

The fourth over ending and fifth once again back into Helios's hands Rauf stared at the pitch silent.

Ren glancing at Noah who sat stationary walked over. Crouching before him he tried to look at his face which was hidden with the wet towel. "Hehe, come on~ there's no need to be like this. You did your best. Look, Aigou and Elias are already giving them a hard time activating 'Roaring'. Why don't you reflect on your mistakes later and encourage them first?" he pacified.

Haruf nodded consoling, "Indeed. No need to regret. It is all a part of the game. Once in the spotlight and at the other time supporting. There's nothing to take to heart." Orion too sat beside Noah. "Yeah, cheer up. You were cool!" he patted his back.

Ren ducked down a little bit more to peek at Noah's face underneath the towel. His expression widening instead. Noah's face red and inaudiable hiccups escaping his chest, his eyes welled up.

Ren without delay smiled and embraced him ruffling his hairs, "Oh dear, oh dear~" "Such a kid… no wonder you are still a first year." he chuckled.

Kazuna, Isa, Nagi, Zach, Aaron and Senri looked at him anxiously as Ren shook his head reassuring.

Evan looked at Rauf who glanced at Noah looking at the pitch again.

Alan tracing the highschoolers sight clenched his fists tight. "How infuriating…" he thought, indecisive and conflicted.

Xavier throwing the ball towards Helios observed, "It's no use. Roaring makes them too powerful. Helios's deliveries are no match. They keep scoring runs like it's no big deal at all."

Heading back to the pitch Helios tossed the ball up and down. Delivering the 3rd delivery he whispered, "Sun's Surge!!" The ball flaring outside the pitch, Aigou stepped sideways raising his bat. "Haha! Off you go for a huge six!!" he declared hitting a smash towards the straight long on, "This is for getting Noah out! Little Sun's Paladin, Fast deliveries don't work on me. Getting me out? Dream on!" he waged war.

Helios glaring at him traced the ball flying towards the audience's seat. Wiping his sweat he headed back. "Tch!" Kenzo clicked his tongue annoyed.

The ball aiming straight for Nidou who snored, Alan turned around to grasp a look. "Old man…!" he stuttered suddenly halting in between.

Nidou peeking from his left eye yawned. As soon as the ball approached him, he caught it in his right arm effortlessly. Mir exhaled. "Seriously, do you brats want to blow my head off?!" he complained irritated throwing the ball back.

"Hehe, sorry…" Aigou rubbed his neck as Elias ruffled his hairs advising, "Be careful." "Okie." Aigou nodded.

Poseidon gulped restless, "This powerplay is really nerve-racking for us." "I agree. Runs are being swept away from us like running water." Damian endorsed.

Helios's over completing, he once again passed the ball to Azazel. Alan tracing the pressure on middle schoolers exhaled, "As per the games pace they must either attain wickets or stop sixes and fours at all costs. Because if not, this powerplay would turn out be their greatest nightmare of their innings. I bet there nervousness would lighten after the power play's end…"

Azazel bowled the second delivery. Aigou evading the ball pulled his bat up as Feng caught the ball throwing it to Adam who rubbed it with his sweat, making it slippery. "Catch it Aza!" he called throwing the ball towards Azazel who caught it.

Seles typing on his laptop compared the results with Drake and Kortes as Senri got ready from the highschoolers batting line.

Azazel delivering the last ball of the sixth over whispered, "Double cross trap!" A slow knuckle delivery instantly tapping the pitch turned into a bouncer heading over Aigou's head.

Aigou taking the chance hit a low back hand scoop shot towards the square leg taking a run. Kenzo however, grasping the ball threatened, "Stay right where you are...!"

Xavier leaving his slip spot stood behind Aigou taking his catching position, aiding Kenzo on his threat for a run out. Aigou instantly halted amid his steps inside the batting crease as Elias kept his bat on the popping crease.

"Or else I am sure… I'll blow your stumps off!!" Kenzo sneered smugly.

Aigou glared.

The umpire extending his right arm horizontally declared a no ball. "No worries, giving away a single run just to threaten them is a not a bad deal." Gabriel assured the umpire and Azazel next.

Alan amused chortled, "Haha, that little…"

"Haha! What a line, your highness." Seraph laughed clapping his hands beside Helios who patted his back. The powerplay finally ending the middleschoolers gathered around.

"Wah!! That was so cool!" Silas clapped his hands against Ebraham's. "Whoa~ scary." Christopher chanted amused.

"Blow of his stumps! Haha! He's still so full of himself." Mikael remarked proud. "That's what makes him our king after all." Damian said.

"Those little rascals…" Aigou twitched his brow clicking his tongue annoyed.

"Haha…" Elias chuckled awkwardly. "However, let's be careful from now on Aigou. Since the powerplay had ended they will surely spread their fielders far and wide. Let's not aim for sixes or fours for the time being." he advised.

"Hm… you're right." Aigou agreed heading to the running crease as Elias took the batting crease.

"Got it?" Kenzo asked. The 10 of them nodded taking their designated positions on the pitch once again.

Gabriel balling the sixth over took the ball from the umpire throwing it towards Helios and catching it back again.

"Hm…" Rauf pondered, "Five on the outside circle with four inside…"

"Not bad…" Alan remarked.

"Inside the 30 inched circle, Xavier has taken the gully point, Ryan the extra cover, Azazel the mid-off while Kenzo is still on the square leg." Drake read.

"While outside the circle, Heber is on third man, Seraph on Fine leg, Adam on the cow corner, Helios on long on with Ezekiel taking the sweepers post." Seles continued, "A befitting strategy against both left and right handed players."

"I bet they took that precaution because of Aigou being an ambidextrous hitter." Yusuf guessed.

"Exactly." Nidou concurred, "Those little brains fit in their heads are dangerous… just watch."

Mir glanced at him smirking, "How confident…"

"Haha! You bet!" Nidou grinned.

Alan hearing them smiled, "64 runs in 6 overs with the run rate of 10.6. They should level up now."

The rabbit hiding inside his hairs snuggled deeper cozying himself. Gabriel tossing the ball glanced at Elias. "It was really you hun? The one who got Noah out?" Aigou asked standing beside him.

Gabriel glared, "So what?"

"Nope, nothing… I'll just make sure you regret ever doing that." Aigou frowned.

Gabriel smirking bowled towards Elias. The delivery powerful was aimed high. Elias stepping ahead evaded the ball pulling his bat back.

Feng taking the chance grasped the ball about to hit the wicket, as Elias alarmed dived back keeping his bat inside the batting crease claiming a safe. Falling on the ground, Elias sat back up exhaling relieved.

"Haha…" Feng laughed. "Be careful honorable seniors~ I bet you don't want to go back to the pavilion being stumped?!" he threatened.

Gabriel sneered at Aigou showed his clenched fist, "Regret? Don't cry heading back to the pavilion yourself."

"Oh dear, oh dear…" Poseidon whispered. "Seems like we don't need to worry anymore." Cassiel sat assured.

The pressure eventually being transferred to the highschoolers. Isa frowned at the sight. Kenzo tracing him sneered.

Xavier, Helios, Seraph, Feng, Adam, Ryan, Azazel, Heber, Ezekiel and Gabriel all pumped up clasped their fists together ready to crush them like blazing meteors.

"Come on…" Gabriel gestured calling Aigou and Elias heading back, "Let's see who amongst us regrets first!"

  1. In the sport of cricket, a knuckle ball is a type of delivery employed by a fast bowler, and a type of slower ball. As similar to a slower ball, the bowler's intention is to deceive the batter into playing too early so that they either miss the ball completely or hit it high up in the air to offer an easy catch.
  2. In cricket, an over consists of six legal deliveries bowled from one end of a cricket pitch to the player batting at the other end, almost always by a single bowler.
  3. Gully in cricket is an aggressive field position where the fielder stands close to the slip cordon but deeper and almost square to the batsman. He is there to take catches if the batsman tries to play a cut shot
  4. Cow corner is a section of grass between deep mid-wicket and wide long-on where fielders are rarely placed because the ball never makes it there.
  5. Sweeper, an alternative name for deep cover, deep extra cover or deep midwicket (that is, near the boundary on the off side or the on side), usually defensive and intended to prevent a four being scored.
  6. In cricket, the run rate, or runs per over, is the average number of runs a batting side scores per over. It includes all runs made by the batting side in the innings to that point of the game, both the runs scored by the batsmen and extras conceded by the bowling team.
  7. Stumped is a method of dismissing a batter in cricket, in which the wicket-keeper puts down the striker's wicket while the striker is out of their ground. It is governed by Law 39 of the Laws of Cricket.
