Chapter 190 - (Part 9)

Alan tracing his frustration wondered, "Is it because Elias conquered his Twilight Sun Break…?" Heber patting Helios's back handed him the ball. "Don't be discouraged." he stimulated.

Helios pushing his hairs back rubbed the ball. Poseidon gulping clutched his hands, "Be calm, Helios…"

Rauf glanced at the highschoolers who were engrossed at the match's sight. "Who's next?" he inquired.

The highschoolers surprised at his call turned around. "What do you mean?" Isa asked.

"Those next on the batting line must be prepared. No matter how easy or difficult the match is. Don't get over confident." Evan warned.

Haruf agreed, "Those little princes are not to be underestimated."

Aigou glancing at Zach and Ren got ready. "Not to be taken lightly…? I bet it should be said to them." Senri smirked at the middle schoolers grave.

"Pinnacle of Perfection, Stage 2: Chevalier's Offense! Giant Smash!"Noah declared stepping forward he smashed towards the leg side mid-wicket.

"Stop it! Adam!" Kenzo called as Adam went behind the ball.

Heber covering him too ran behind. "Aah!!" Adam dived over the ball to stop it however Noah smirked, "Curve…"

The ball curving like a slithering snake evaded Adam's dive and Heber's grip, "Wha…?" heading straight into the boundary claiming a four. Azazel stunned kept his arms on his forehead while Helios crouched low.

"What the hell?!" Aryan and Ines shrieked baffled.

"The ball upon order, curves itself and makes its way into the boundary. No matter how many fielders stop the ball it's useless." Cassiel explained.

"How did you know?" Christopher asked surprised.

"He is famous. No more like they are all famous. As much of a data freak I am, I am aware of their signature moves." Cassiel replied turning the pages of his journal.

"Wow… you are seriously admitting that you are a data freak." Xander said speechless.

"So the more hitting deliveries are bowled to him. The more our disadvantage, right?" Poseidon guessed.

"Exactly." Cassiel replied, "The second stage doubles Noah's normal strength and insight creating offenses on different deliveries making it hard for the others to break his moves. In simpler words, he turns into a power player."

"But why use this so early right now? They have the entire innings on their hands?" Jonah asked.

"To pressurize use. Helios tried to pressurize them straight on the first delivery. So now it's time for payback." Poseidon narrowed his gaze.

"All those high deliveries would be useless now. They have just seen his boundary scoring strategy, I bet they'll start wailing once they see him hit a six." Orion sneered.

"5th delivery of the 2nd over…" Yusuf whispered.

Helios running towards the left of pitch bowled towards Elias who positioned himself on the batting line. "To think they would start hitting shots when we are still in the powerplay? We obviously can't catch them and get them out with only two fielders outside the 30 inched circle…" he thought. Stepping on the popping crease he bowled, "Sun's Surge!"

The ball swinging away from the batsman was aimed away from Elias. Feng ready to catch the ball was about to grasp it as Elias stepped forward. A smile resting his face he slammed his bat high and above towards the leg side on straight long on.

"Darn!" Kenzo uttered. Heber running behind tried to stop however the ball went towards the audience's seat claiming a six. Helios shaking his head wiped his sweat heading back. Seles stared restless, "A head on match…"

"Indeed. They both are on each other's neck despite highschoolers taking the lead." Kortes agreed.

"Helios Zadeh's progress has also sky rocketed. His past progress files can't even compare to the one standing before us right now." Drake remarked amazed.

Nidou hearing their compliment smirked ever so lightly.

Helios's last ball of the second over crashing on the pitch before Noah, he called out, "Stage 2: Chevalier's Offense! Avalanche crash!"\

A massive six smashed at the last ball. At the end of the 2nd over the highschoolers had targeted 24 runs. 2 sixes, 2 fours with 5 runs. The middle schoolers gathering surrounded Helios who wiped his sweat.

"Good job, Captain." Ezekiel handed him a water bottle.

Xavier patted his back beside Seraph. Helios drinking water nodded. "I'll leave the rest to you, Gabriel." he entrusted the next over to him.

Gabriel smirking walked over to the umpire taking the ball. "Leave it to me." he assured, "Let me beat them up!"

Helios taking Gabriel's position, the boys once again got ready.

"So it's Gabriel for the 3rd over." Alan wondered.

Gabriel standing on the pitch's right side stepped forward to bowl Noah who looked ahead tapping his bat.

"It will be the opposite this time. Since Elias is a spin returner, he will have an advantage whereas, Noah will be at a disadvantage for being a pace returner." Isa informed.

Aaron grinned confident, "As if~ your highness."

"It's Noah we are talking about." Senri added.

Kazuna took a deep breath beside Orion who grinned.

Gabriel stepping on the crease bowled harshly. The ball's power outstanding, Noah blinked, "Oh dear." Stepping back his hairs flared like blazing fire as his eyes turned golden once again. "A top spinner aimed for the mid bail." he thought. "Little freaks… I see your each and every move dancing in your mind!" he called raising the bat to his waist and hitting the ball down on the pitch for a cover drive, "Stage 3: Chevalier's Defense, Foretaste…" he grinned taking a run.

Ezekiel grasping the ball threw it back to Gabriel who glared heading back. "His hairs are flaring!" Malik pointed.

"Stage 3 of Pinnacle of Perfection, Defense." Poseidon guessed.

"To think he would've have already perfected three stages, is just unbelievable." Christopher gulped.

"He isn't ranked 5th just for show." Cassiel alerted pushed his glasses up.

Alan silent turned around to glance at Nidou who dozed off to sleep instantly waking up again, repeating the same process. "Is he that bored?!" he thought at a loss words. Mir too stared at the pitch expressionless.

Gabriel delivering the third ball of the over whispered, "Dark Blizzard form 2!" A Googly wrapped in a double spin tapped the pitch producing haphazard movements. Elias sensing the ball's aim closed his eyes.

"He closed his eyes?!" Farran gasped baffled.

Stepping forward, Elias smashed the bat up and high towards a straight hit six. However, short from the boundary Heber rushed to catch it. "Go Heber!" Gabriel called as Adam followed behind. Heber tracing the ball stood under it about to catch. The highschoolers with their breaths at a halt stared.

"I got it…" Heber raised his hands up however before the ball could reach his hands, it torn into pieces bursting. Heber stood flabbergasted, "Huh?"

The torn ball as soon as hitting the ground resurrected back into a normal ball, rolling towards the boundary claiming a four. A sight of bewilderment seizing the middleschoolers, the umpire swept his hand across his body three times declaring a four.

Hairs covering his face, Elias smiled as Gabriel glared grave, "Destroy and Resurrect…"

"There it is… one of Elias's deadly counters, Destroy and Resurrect." Nagi whispered, "At the times of catch, the ball ultimately bursts and at the moment of hitting the ground rebuilds itself again. A devastating ability."

Heber standing at the pitch gazed at his hands dumbfounded. Kenzo rushing over to him shook his shoulders.

"Captain… I?" Heber justified as Ryan patted his back assuring, "It's alright. No need to say anything. We all saw it."

Kenzo agreeing patted his shoulders, taking their positions again.

"What in the world…?" Heber gazed at the ball confused.

"Adam, Ryan swap positions and stand a little backwards, Ezekiel, you and I swap!" Helios called switching the overall fielding positions.

Pressure surrounding middleschoolers from every corner. Gabriel clicked his tongue annoyed

. "Elias and Noah have really turned their harsh mode on." Senri remarked amused as Zach stared silent.

"Noah's completely perfected offense and defense aided by Elias's long support, makes them a strong batting pair. Seems like those middleschoolers are going to have a hard time ahead of them." Nagi summed up.

Rauf glancing at him pondered, "Is that so…?"

"Looks like Noah is reading Gabriel's mind continuously to counter his deliveries. Since, he witnessed Gabriel using the same moves while playing against Alan, he is aware of its return." Cassiel guessed.

"Does that mean we are at a disadvantage, despite Noah being a pace returner?" Theo inquired.

"He reads the ballers mind. Do you think it's a joke?" Cassiel asked back.

"What the hell?!" Aza and Claude shrieked.

"No way…" Christopher gulped, "How did you know that too?"

"He said that before." Damian recalled, "He sees Gabriel's each and every move dancing in his mind."

Alan tapped his finger on the seat's arm. The rabbit snuggling deeper he remembered...

"Gabriel." he called sitting on the tree's branch.

Gabriel correcting his balling grip, wiped his sweat, glancing behind, "What?"

"Trying to find something new?" Alan speculated.

Gabriel grinned.

"Haha." Alan chuckled, "I look forward to seeing it soon."

  1. In the game of cricket, a googly refers to a type of delivery bowled by a right-arm leg spin bowler. It is different from the normal delivery for a leg-spin bowler in that it is turning the other way.
