Chereads / KINGS OF CRICKET: The Golden Era / Chapter 88 - (Part 7)

Chapter 88 - (Part 7)

Helios and Seraph blinked their eyes. "Captain...?" asked Heber and Azazel dazed Feng grinned contented. "HAHA! You're right! Why didn't I realize that?" he asked relived glaring at Gabriel, Adam and Ryan satisfied. Mikael and Theo sighed, "Seriously?"

"That stupid coward king…" Adam and Ryan gritted at Kenzo infuriated. "Looks like I'll head out now." Poseidon said.

"Ah… it's your turn now? Best of luck." cheered Feng.

"Hm, be careful and give it your all." Helios encouraged tapping his shoulder.

"Yeah, it will all turn out to be great." Seraph added as Cassiel agreed.

"Beat him up, Poseidon we are counting on you!" Adam bucked up beside Ryan. Kenzo exhaled, "I have nothing to say, for you are unshakable in your own way." "However… is it alright, to let him sleep at an hour like this?" he pointed towards Ezekiel who still slept soundly on Ebraham's shoulder.

Poseidon hesitating for a while shook his head at the end. "It's fine. Just let him sleep, he might be tired." he decided.

Xavier walked over. "Are you sure? At one side he might not like this, while on the other you are doing this to protect him. Don't let yourself regret this decision." he advised.

Poseidon biting his lip spoke up, "It's fine. I can't let him see me because I have to give it my all. I can't suppress my potential while facing Alan. So even if Ezekiel becomes disappointed over my decision, it's alright." Poseidon replied.

"Vice-captain…" whispered Claude and Lucifer heartened.

Helios smiled ruffling Poseidon's hairs. "Okay! Then that settles it. If you want to give it your all then go. I have your back right here and don't worry about him. I am still here." he assured.

Poseidon hearing his words instantly gleamed relived. Light shining once again in his troubled eyes, he nodded. "Yes! I'll give my best everyone. Wish me luck!" he resolved stepping outside heading towards the pitch.

"All the very best of luck!" the middle schoolers cheered lightly making sure not to wake Ezekiel up. Xavier eyeing Feng, out the blue commented, "Good job. I am proud of you." Feng blinking his eyes gasped taken aback while Ryan stared stunned.

"Really?!" he asked back in disbelief. Xavier looking ahead nodded. "Haha! Thank you Vice-captain! I'll work even harder!" he claimed hugging him tightly. Ryan slightly envious turned away. "I also did a good job…" he whispered which was clearly heard by Xavier who smiled.

"Of course, that goes for you as well little prince." Xavier continued. Mikael and Hadi sighed in disbelief. "Those two seriously won't change…" they commented. Kenzo glanced at Xavier breath, "You know, you spoil them too much." Hearing his words, Xavier stood wide eyed.

"What's wrong?" Kenzo asked curiously. "No… it's nothing. Those words felt quite familiar." Xavier replied recalling.

"Of course, Captain Hugo always said it to Vice-Captain Xavier. Moreover, seems like you're quiet jealous hun? You idoit king?" Ryan mocked. Kenzo ignoring his words looked ahead. "Like hell this king will be jealous over something like compliments." he stated.

"But I wonder if it's alright hun… to let him sleep like this." Azazel looked Ezekiel worried. Helios eyeing him and Ebraham stared seriously. Poseidon walked over to the pitch where Alan waited. "Ah! It's the sea this time!" Alan waved, making his way towards Poseidon.

"Sea?" Poseidon asked puzzled. Alan giving his hand nodded, "Of course, your friend there was the sun and you the sea. Just thinking about it makes me feel excited."

Poseidon shaking his hand smiled back, "The sea hun… I don't think I am as distinguishable as one. Nevertheless, I still aim for a great game together."

"Me too… I look forward to your surprises. Mr. Charmer." Alan responded.

Poseidon hearing his words stood stunned. "Really… you always pick everything with just a single glance. I can't help but wonder if you're some kind of an oracle."

Alan tossing the bat on his shoulder beamed, "I ain't an oracle. However, I am the younger brother of a certain someone who isn't less than a fortune teller."

Poseidon endorsed, "Hehe… seems so." "Hm, Let's see… the word which suits you is… gentle." Alan whispered as Poseidon headed towards the balling line. "Gentle hun…" he wondered.

"Hey, hey look! It's Aaron's boy!" pointed Aigou peeking at Aaron who gazed at Alan and Poseidon constantly. "Aaron's boy hun. You sure give out interesting titles." Isa chuckled beside Zach who gave back a silent smile. "But, I am right aren't I? Aaron seemed to like that boy quite a lot since the very beginning." Aigou continued.

"And that isn't a lie. I do like him even now as well." responded Aaron pleased. Kazuna and Senri looked at each other curiously. "But, world idol. What caused you to admire him so much?" asked Ren intrigued. Noah, Orion and Nagi with Elias waited for his reply.

"Hm… let's see. His name maybe!" Aaron replied foolishly.

The highschoolers looked at each other speechless. "A complete idoit." responded Ren turning around.

Haruf eyeing Evan chortled while he sighed. "Seriously, I didn't expect you give me such an answer even though he is the queen of the board." responded Isa upset.

Senri and Orion with Noah and Ren hearing his words turned around, "Huh?! The queen?!" they asked altogether shocked. I

sa smiling whispered back, "Yes, the queen…"

Elias looked at Noah perplexed. "Say your highness, why didn't you tell us something as important as this earlier?" Senri wondered.

"That's because, it's obvious." Isa replied confidently.

"Its oblivious hun…?" the highschoolers repeated oblivious none understanding a single word.

Aaron looking at Poseidon smiled whispering, "I didn't lie… his name really intrigues me."

Nagi racing their sights all confused sighed, "Just forget it. You all better find it out between this over. Besides, that boy on the pitch is one of the top ranking players in the juvenile base's players list. Poseidon Agiel, a 3rd year middle schooler and an evolving cricket player. A skilled ambidextrous baller who excels in delivering spin deliveries. From which his infamous ones are full toss spins, Return of two kinds (The second one and the third one (Doosra and Teesra)), Googly and flipper deliveries. The current Vice-captain of the Eight generation Academy and its second best player after Helios Zadeh. His play style despite his gentle nature is conjuring. Even Helios has to stay on his guard against his deliveries. However, even with his outstanding abilities due to him suffering from an incurable disease, he doesn't show up too much…"

"Hey, hey, what kind of disease is it?" Noah interrupted.

"Guillain-Barre syndrome." Nagi replied solemn.

"Gully… what?" repeated Orion puzzled.

"Not Gully, its Guillain-Barre syndrome." Nagi corrected, "A rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves which causes weakness, pain and numbness all around your body, eventually paralyzing it."

"Yikes!" gulped Aigou grabbing Elias's jacket who along with the others sat dazed.

"You mean… such a little life is going through something like this?" Noah gulped in disbelief. Aaron stared at the pitch seriously. "Yes, he is and ever since his childhood. He had always been under Helios's mother's treatment. Moreover, he has recently been through a disease prolonging surgery between the district matches. After that his condition has stabilized however, he still confronts asthma attacks, if ever worked hard." Nagi informed.

The highschoolers hearing his words sat silent. Rauf and Nidou eyeing the pitch stood expressionless. "I don't know whose side to take anymore…" whispered Senri.

Isa eyeing him and Kazuna smiled, "Take the side of your heart."

Nagi endorsed, "That's right. After all, he wouldn't be invited to the base if he's that weak. There must be something in him which has taken head coach's interest. As for his play style, you can guess it by his deliveries. They are all the one's Alan loves to return, dangerous spins. After all, you can't expect anything less from an evolver. Even his title says it clearly 'Tranquil Blue Moon'…"

"Sea…" uttered Aaron at the same time.

The highschoolers looked at the two of them confused.

"Sea…?" asked Aigou, Elias, Senri and Noah together.

"Moon…?" added Orion, Isa, Ren and Zach together.

"Which one is it? Or is it the both of them?" Kazuna questioned. Nagi staring at Aaron once again looked into his journal. "It's moon. That's what's written on my records." he repeated.

"Correct it Nagi boy, from now onwards it's the sea again…" Aaron remarked confidently. Evan and Haruf glanced at him puzzled.
