Chapter 10 - Chapter 9: The Great Boar

Celestina dashed right through the raging fire of the town, I can't get past the barrage of people running for their lives. All I could ever do is observe what will happen next as she ascend to the ground.

***

My Father taught me to fight The Great Boar back then.. though I do not know any survival skills, he told me that I need to nurture and strengthen my magical skills.

In return, he'll summon the great boar to practice and hone my skills to where I am at today.

***

Shards of ice surround Celestina as if it were an aura, awaiting for the commands to attack. As she lifts her finger, shards start to rain on the great boar that is ravaging the town.

In the sea of raging fire, the ice doesn't melt but rather strengthened. Those Shards became crystals as they went through the great boar, causing it to roar in pain.

The Great Boar set its eyes on Celestina, but it seems she isn't going to budge.. their eyes met as the Great Boar readies to dash its way through Celestina.

Celestina's magic shines bright like a star as it lighted the dimly lit town, making people look at her with awe. She was like an angel coming to save them.

Amongst the brightness, a crown formed atop her head, floating. As shards of ice doubled raining through the great boar.. but it wasn't enough, each rain of ice the great boar forced its way through Celestina.

I tried to run toward it, but before I could ever do such actions. She raised her finger as a large ice shard manifested atop a moving boar, without even hesitation the shard dropped into the skies penetrating the large Great Boar.. ending its rampage, to a raging sea of fire.

She slowly descends to the ground, casting water magic across the town.

It was an astonishing feat from what I just witnessed. Is this the power of elves? a royal elf? It far succeeded even Catalina's power and magical abilities even the elf that we fought.

It's amazing... but also, scary.

***

I defeated the great boar without the guidance of my father. It was something that I thought, I couldn't do. I was far too afraid of using my magic to harm, but also I am afraid that it might get out of control.

the people suddenly rushed to me, thanking me for what I have done to the town. Their cries and joy, knowing that there wouldn't be a threat to their home. But unfortunately, it's decimated by the sea of raging fires.

Leaving the children and the elders without shelter...

Eloise suddenly tapped me on the back, not noticing her presence as she looked at me with a proud expression.

"For a first-time adventurer, you're quite a powerful one!"

She winked as her hands rise, creating a massive light throughout the whole town. It was like a sun shining so bright upon the sky.

Eloise walked through the burnt and wet, decimated houses. She observes them and checks at them as if she's looking at what once was built there.

Suddenly, she rose her hands once again. creating a magnitude, that shook our surroundings. Structures suddenly are appearing in the ground as if it was built there. Without even a minute, a town was built merely out of pure magic...

Amazing... I have never heard about this magic before, a magic that can create structures within mere seconds, or minutes! without waiting for complicated days!

***

This magic only holds for only a mere month, I've already told the townfolks to make at least a pillar for it to have a foundation for it to carry on for a couple of years to come. It's been a while since I've used this magic on a large scale, I've only done it once at the hut.

After all of the townfolks settled with their new home, I removed the light making the town dimly lit once again...

"You truly are an extraordinary one, Eloise."

"Not as stunning and cool as you Celestina."

Celestina is a beast on her own, if she were this powerful as royalty. It means that there are far stronger elves that managed to oust her.

"An old lady offered us a place to sleep for the night Eloise! Shall we take the offer?"

I looked at her, her small smile somewhat makes my heart skip for a moment. I have this urge to protect that smile somehow... Probably because of my history in my past life? Nah...

***

I and Eloise entered the house given to us to shelter for the night. It was quite big, but also cramped enough for us to sleep in one bed.

Eloise lay first in the bed, her hair scattered around it as if it were flowers flowing through streams of water. She looks seductive all of a sudden... no! This is just my imagination! Come on Celestina!!

"Wouldn't you join me in bed?"

My heart beats, I'm nearly suffocating from the number of beats my heart has been beating.

"I-i-i... Okay!"

She simply smiled, probably out of confusion as she slowly drifts off from sleep. We've already locked the doors-

Wait...

Remove these dirty thoughts within me! Why am I being like this all of the sudden? Even I do not know... Either way, we're going back to the city once again for us to accept another commission. It's quite an eventful life as an adventurer, though faced with danger. the satisfaction of helping someone in need is comforting...

As my eyes slowly become heavy, I looked at Eloise once again. As I drift off into sleep...

***

As the melodies of birds echo through my ears, I was awakened by Celestina humming. It was comforting, as its melody struck through my soul. Hearing a song that I once dearly love, even though I haven't heard of it yet.

I can't help but look in awe as she carried on into the chorus of her humming. It was stunning and wonderful... The sun shines bright, and so does her voice.
