Then, as the Shinoa squad kept on fighting the three vampires, Atsushi became worried about them not being able to win. And then, Guren and the other soldiers from the Imperial Demon Army came to the scene and saw the fight. At the same time, the beastman was defeated by the Shinoa squad.
"Guren-san!" Atsushi said to them. "There are three vampires who had set a trap for the Shinoa squad."
"What? How?" Guren asked back.
"Yuichiro-kun just disobeyed Mitsuba-chan's orders by saving a girl," Atsushi replied back.
To that Guren was purely disappointed at Yuichiro's stupidity and recklessness. "Such an idiot."
He then looked at Atsushi. "Just stay here until they need you."
Atsushi then nodded and resumed watching the fight.
Then, as the three vampires are gaining an upper hand on the Shinoa squad, Atsushi's worries returned.
"Oh, no, they might lose," he commented.
But then, his mountain spirit said to him in his head, "Help them."
"What?" Atsushi whispered as low as he can.
His mountain spirit then repeated the same words again.
Eventually, fueled by the desire to protect his friends, he grabbed his sword and said to Guren and the soldiers, "I gotta help them!"
As he went off, Guren was alerted. "What? Are you crazy? You're going to die out there!"
But Atsushi didn't care at all and disregarded that warning.
So, he stood there with an enough distance, drew out his sword, and shouted at the vampires, "Hey, vampires!" Upon hearing that, both sides stopped fighting and looked at him.
"Don't you ever hurt them, you damned vampires!" Atsushi continued. "Go and fight me instead!"
Seeing this, Guren was again disappointed at his recklessness. "Why it had to be like this?"
Also seeing this, Clare and his squad, who were on a rooftop of a nearby building, were shocked at Atsushi's reckless action, and became worried about his safety. And then, Yeager came and asked them what is going on. Upon hearing him, Clare and her squad turned to their left.
"Yeager-san!" Clare said to him.
Walking towards them, Yeager asked again, "What is going on here?"
"Oh, um." Clare glanced at the fight. "This kid is going to fight the vampires."
One of her squad members then pointed his finger towards Atsushi for a few seconds.
Upon seeing that, Yeager was surprised, but not too surprised at all. "Hmm..."
"What should we do about him?" Clare asked him.
Yeager then looked at them. "We'll just watch. Remember our group policy. That kid will make up his mind."
Eventually, Clare and her squad nodded in agreement and resumed watching the fight.
Back at the fight, the three vampires then smiled at Atsushi with evil intent and decided to fight him instead of the Shinoa squad. Upon seeing their friend's sacrifice, the squad was surprised with shock.
"What the...?"
"Are you out of your mind?"
"You'll die!"
But Atsushi didn't care at all; all that matters is that his friends are safe.
And so, Atsushi began to fight the three vampires with all his strength and knowledge of fighting. They both clashed their weapons against one another as the Imperial Demon Army and Red Scarlet Army soldiers watched the fight with astonishment.
"You're nothing but a tasty human for us!" shouted one of the vampires.
"Do it then!" Atsushi yelled in response before delivering an attack using his weapon, in which another vampire blocked it with his own.
Then, after a full minute of fighting, Atsushi was pinned down and was cornered towards a wall. The vampires are about to finish him off.
"Atsushi!" Yoichi responded to this.
"Such an idiot," Guren added.
Yuichiro then turned to Guren. "Do something about it!"
"I can't do anything," Guren objected.
Kimizuki then turned to Guren. "Are you going to leave him facing his fate?"
But Guren can't do anything about it anyway.
So, as Atsushi's strength ran out, one of the vampires pointed his weapon towards him. "You're done off, pathetic human." But, the mountain spirit said to Atsushi, "I got this! Here!" Then, just as the vampire's blade was about to hit him, Atsushi struck back with his sword. But now, he was shrouded in blue aura, including his weapon. His eyes turned blue, too.
Then, with the strength given by his mountain spirit, he slowly gets up and fought back, causing the three vampires to jump back away from him. Atsushi's ability and power has been revealed.
