Kai stumbled as he emerged from the portal. His head was spinning, and he had no idea where he was. Lirien was gone, and he was alone once again.
He looked around, trying to get his bearings. The world around him was strange and unfamiliar. It seemed like he had been gone for years, but he couldn't remember anything about where he had been or what had happened to him.
He rubbed his temples, trying to ease the pounding headache that had taken hold. It was like his memories had been wiped clean, leaving him with nothing but confusion and fear.
As he walked, he tried to piece together what little he could remember. He had been sucked into the pocket dimension, separated from his friends, and then...what? It was all a blur.
Suddenly, he heard a sound behind him. He turned around, but there was no one there. He dismissed it as his imagination and continued walking, hoping to find some clue as to where he was.
But the further he went, the more disorienting the landscape became. The sky was an eerie shade of purple, and the ground seemed to shift and move beneath his feet.
He felt a sense of foreboding creeping up on him, and he quickened his pace, desperate to escape this strange place. But no matter how fast he ran, he couldn't seem to make any progress.
Just as he was about to give up hope, he heard a voice calling his name. It was faint at first, but it grew louder with each passing moment.
"Kai! Kai, can you hear me?"
He recognized the voice as John's. Relief flooded through him as he realized that he was no longer alone.
"John, where are you?" he shouted.
"Over here, by the trees!"
Kai ran towards the sound of John's voice, and as he got closer, he saw the rest of his friends gathered around him.
"Kai, thank goodness you're back!" Lara cried, throwing her arms around him.
"What happened? Where have you been?" John asked.
Kai shook his head, trying to remember. "I don't know. I can't remember anything."
The group exchanged worried glances. They had all heard stories of people who had lost their memories after being trapped in other dimensions.
"We need to get you help," Emily said, taking Kai's arm.
As they walked, Kai couldn't help but feel like he was being watched. It was like something was lurking just out of sight, waiting for its chance to strike.
He shuddered, feeling a chill run down his spine. Whatever had happened to him in that pocket dimension, it had left him with a deep sense of unease.
But for now, he was just grateful to be back with his friends. They would figure out what had happened to him, and together they would find a way to put things right.
