"Wait! What?"
Seraphina stared at Raven with wide eyes, struggling to believe that he was being serious and not just joking with her. Yet, she knew very well that he wasn't the type to joke around.
"By any chance... were you going to say three years?" She asked, hoping that it was indeed the case.
"It has indeed been three hundred years." He answered, confirming that he really wasn't joking.
"Three hundred years?" Her voice was a whisper, her mind reeling from the revelation. She knew that faes were nearly immortals and lived for thousand and thousand of years. Still, that knowledge did little to help her suppress her surprise.
She stared at him in disbelief. "You've been carrying this pain for that long?"
He nodded slowly, his eyes softening as he looked at her. "Time works differently for us faes. But pain... it lingers, no matter how many centuries pass."
