Seraphina stilled and her piercing deep purple eyes glared straight into Kethan's amber eyes.
"Is that what you are so desperate to hear?" she demanded, her voice steady despite the turmoil that was brewing deep within her. "That I've fallen for you?"
Kethan met her gaze unflinchingly, keeping his thoughts guarded. "Well... I can't deny that I'm drawn to the thought."
She couldn't suppress the scoff that escaped her lips as his audacious words sank in. "What kind of game are you playing now? You don't even like me, but you want me to like you? It makes no sense to me."
With a sudden, almost casual movement, he released his grip from her waist and leaned back against the couch, that familiar smirk curling his lips. "And when did I ever say I didn't like you, Kitten?"
