Right before Seraphina's hand could have made contact with his face, the man asked, "What are you doing?"
Her hand stilled merely an inch away from his cheek as she answered, "Trying to see if you are real or not."
"I'm not." He stated immediately, not wasting even a second. The look he was carrying on his face was so calm and blank that it was hard to tell whether he was being serious or just trying to mess with her.
"How can that be possible?" She found herself demanding. "The meadow is real, but not you? That doesn't sound reasonable at all."
A merely noticeable smile made its way to his lips at her words. He stared straight into her eyes as he challenged - "Go ahead and verify your doubt. But I must warn you that you are going to be disappointed."
