"Raven."
She called him with her heart beating wildly in her chest.
Nothing.
"Raven."
She called again. This time she even used her hands to pat him slightly on his arm.
Yet, nothing.
"Raven!"
This time, she cried out in alarm and shook him strongly, only to get no response from him. Feeling scared, she quickly rolled them over, pushing his heavy body to the side and shifting into a sitting position to check on the man.
As she hovered over him, she got her first look at his face and she almost stopped breathing for a moment. He looked pale, too pale for her comfort. Blood was covering his lips and chin, and he was unconscious.
Her hand trembled as she reached out to check his breathing. It was only when she felt his faint breathing against her fingers, did she let out the breath that she didn't even know she was holding.
"Raven."
