'Woosh.'
A dot blotted out the sun creating the half-crescent of an impending eclipse. All to signal doom. This blot upon the star rapidly fell back to earth.
'BOOM!' Dust kicked up from where Daniel stood seconds before the thing that had jumped to the sky. The monstrous Villain had pounced on him in such time that not nearly a second had passed since its orbit.
Hochi and Sam stared on, waiting for the impact to settle. Once it finally did, a startling scene shone that rendered either of them stunned. In place of Daniel was Pochi who had launched itself into the sky then used the same burst of air to direct itself at Daniel to crush him underneath the force. However, it had not crushed Daniel, who scurried away at the last moment. An elongated tongue reached out from under Pochi's mask, licking at fresh blood that splattered across its mask. Clearing away the holes for his eyes a guttural growl was heard as the remnants of blue feathers fell from the mask.
Only Daniel had been able to see Pochi jump into the air, during that second in between flight then acceleration he requested a sacrifice from the blue jay on his shoulder. The valor displayed by his comrade gave way to blind Pochi causing its foot to land half a meter to his right.
Although Daniel was able to avoid a direct hit from the immense power behind that kick, he suffered second-hand damage. The shockwave had blasted him off his feet, tossing him away. In the process concrete splintered and shot everywhere, slicing up Daniel's arms as well as chest. There were no life-threatening wounds, but they stung all the same. A sudden idea graced the boy's mind causing him to collect the shards, taking them one by one out of his forearm.
Pochi turned toward Daniel only to be greeted by the same shards speeding toward its face. The pieces cut its jacket, but no blood was seen. Daniel slid underneath its stare thrusting a fist out from below. The punch knocked Pochi back a pace serving to rattle his cage enough for Daniel to land a second and subsequent third hit. Each fell flat with little impact on the sides of the person's mask, not even denting its surface. Yet, before he could land the next, a kick to his gut sent him reeling.
A cough produced some spit which arched his spine just enough to see the thing's leg torpedoing from depths untold. Barely avoiding it and falling to his back, Daniel slid away giving both competitors time to collect themselves. He surveyed his effect; the mask had cracked on the third hit but was so insignificant it could barely be recognized. In the end the only substantial damage sought to enrage Pochi. It hyperventilated in frustration, tearing its hands over the site of the child's punch. Pochi rubbed, toiling with the spot as if he was trying to scrub it away.
Pochi's punch bore almost the same weight as Daniel's; all that mattered was the location of the hit. Due to Pochi's face remaining covered he could not determine where the person's chin was which would have guaranteed a greater impact from his punches. In contrast, Pochi had gone for the kidneys with great success.
But Daniel knew that Pochi's fists were not the draw of his power. That's where the legs came into play. They were unnaturally large in the thighs with muscle brandished stretching the material of the person's pants to their capacity. Those things would undoubtedly shatter bones killing any normal human in a single blow.
Pochi snarled, "This won't be quick. Kid got spunk."
"Same here." Hochi mumbled with the slightest of giggles. Sam had opened the ground beneath its feet then reformed the concrete around it sealing its legs. Hochi clicked its tongue shooting a shiver down his spine which folded his body in on itself and out of the hole in the ground. Another click brought him to his original state. "Let's do this again, girly." Its fist ballooned out, taking the light from Sam's eyes.
