Chapter 73 - 73. “Don’t let a single one live.”

A few moments ago,

The situation at her home wasn't any better. If anything, it was worse. Jenkins, Justin's second son, was in charge of the group that came here.

Expectedly, the thirty or so people he led to Thyra's mansion were all knights. And at the helm was Dummkopf, a sixth-grade knight. After Justin and Guntur, he was the strongest and also the vice commander of the knight unit.

Rika was also here with her barbarian companion. However, with Dummkopf present, she was kept occupied. He wasn't much stronger than her; still, it was hard for Rika to neutralise him.

The other knights and Jenkins continuously harassed her companions and the other girls of the manor. Even Hure, Aria and Nisa were dragged out of the building.

And then it happened. Rika didn't see who did it, but she saw Hure was pushed to the ground. She ran to help, but Dummkopf was faster.

An enormous amount of red energy escaped her body, and she attacked with all. The energy formed a fully grown rock sloth with three big nails in each claw. She swung it with all she got.

Dummkopf was too close to escape. He covered his sword with mana and took the attack head-on. He was pushed back a couple of steps, and before he could recover, another claw smashed him on the side.

The attack tore through his mana shield that was covering his body and tore off the armour leaving behind deep claw marks. His experience made his escape with little to no wound.

He didn't get the chance to cheek his wound. A knee hit right into his helmetless face making him lose balance. As he was falling, he felt the barbarian wrapped herself around his shoulder, and he couldn't move his hand.

"Ahhhhh…" He opened his mouth only to scream as Rika's uncensored struggle to do an armbar broke his hand at a weird angle.

*Bang*

Rika jumped up. She knew this sound very well. She didn't care about her opponent as he held one hand with other, which couldn't return to normal because of the twisted armour and ran towards others.

"Whaa!" What she saw shocked Rika.

The first thing she noticed was Hure lying in a pool of blood. There wasn't a visible injury, but she could understand why she was lying in a pool of blood.

Aria was crying and screaming at the top of her lungs while trying to wake Hure up. And in front of them was Nisa, who stood there holding a small knife, protecting those behind her.

"Give up resisting. I will let you live. Do you think you can win against my knights?"

"Don't come any closer. Or I will kill you all." Nisa's hand was clearly shaking as she glared at them. She was sure she couldn't defeat all the knights, nor could she let herself get captured. She had to hold on until help arrived.

Nisa wasn't without any wounds. Neither was Hilda or Kaya. Her companions were already at their limits while fighting ten to twelve knights.

"A slave-borne. As expected of that bitch." Jenkins, who wasn't aware of the reason for the sudden thunder on a clear day, spoke, "But I have to say, she had gathered quite a few beautiful ones."

"But what is the use of that?" The knight beside Jenkins joked. "All she can do is look at them."

"Young master, why don't you take them and give them the taste of a real man?"

"Are you telling me to spend the night with a slave born? Even my horse won't sleep with her." Jenkins frowned.

"How about the girl in the back? That maid looks good enough to warm the young master's bed for a few nights."

"Yes, the young master could have those while you give the others to us."

"Yeah! We don't care whether it is a slave or a barbarian, as long as we can have fun."

"Good. You guys have worked hard." Jenkins nodded, adding, "Let's recover the gold and other things as the elder brother has ordered."

*Bang*

Before Rika moved to reach them, the thunder hit the open area between Jenkins and the girls. A smile appeared on her lips as Rika's energyless body plopped on the ground.

Manifesting the guardian deity with mana is the last thing a barbarian would do. It would drain their enemy in a matter of minutes. Which was also why she immobilised the knight with the technique Thyra had taught her.

She didn't have an ounce of energy left. She knew that even if she went, she would not be able to stop all the knights or save the girls. But now that Thyra was here, she was sure she wouldn't need to move.

"You… you, why are you here?" Jenkins stumbled on his word. However, he didn't forget to add, "My brother ordered me to do it. The Viscount ordered me to do it."

Thyra didn't say anything; she only looked around. Thyra's eyes met Rika's; then she looked at the other barbarians before she walked towards Hure and others.

"RIKA," Thyra didn't scream, but the voice sent a chill down her spine. Rika was sure there wasn't a clause about following Thyra unconditionally in the contract she had signed, but for some reason, her body moved.

She didn't have any energy, but she still walked. There was one more time she felt such pressure, and it was from her mother. It was when her mother rallied the tribe to fight against another tribe.

She knew the knight who had beaten up Thyra at the bandit camp was stronger. He had a pressure that forced her instinct to scream, while this sense was different.

Even if she didn't want to move, Rika still walked towards Thyra. None of the knights dared to stop her.

"Take her inside. No matter what she must do, ensure Hure is alive."

Rika avoided making eye contact with Thyra, and wisely so. She could feel the mana around her raging in chaos at such close proximity, making the hair on her skin stand. It was like she was bitten by thousands of ants all over her body, but she couldn't make a sound.

"Wahhhhhhhh!" Aria broke into tears again, and Rika could understand why. The amount of blood she had lost between her legs wasn't normal. She wasn't sure whether the child would survive or not.

"What if the child doesn't survive?" Rika wanted to ask, but she didn't dare. Rika walked forward and carried Hure up. She could feel her breathing, but it was too weak. She didn't waste any more time and walked inside.

"Leave," Thyra said.

"My lady…" Hilda wanted to say something.

"LEAVE."

Hilda obeyed. Kaya took Aria with her as she left. The Barbarians were about to follow, but the knights they were fighting blocked the path.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

Thyra didn't even move from her position, but five consecutive lightning bolts hit those who were blocking the path. The bodies hit the ground, never to move again. The exhausted barbarians didn't dare waste any more time and moved out of the encirclement.

In the end, only Nisa was left, still holding on to the knife. Thyra looked at her as Nisa glared back at her.

"If you care about your women, learn to protect them." Thyra didn't say anything in return. Silence followed before Nisa turned around to leave.

However, after taking a few steps, she stopped, adding, "Don't let a single one live."
