Nightfall's POV
As the Blood Moon reveals itself upon the sky in the 666th year of the Werewolf Realm, a divine being falls into their world.
The Great Celestia, the first Goddess ever recorded in history to have fallen into this world millions of years ago. She was called the 'Embodiment of Truth and Justice' for remarkably solving thousands of criminal cases ever since she turned 18. Using only a drop of her blood, she can see the future and can tell events that happened from the past even though she wasn't there to witness them firsthand—which made her a key person to grant justice to the oppressed. Her power is coveted by all, yet hated by many, which, unfortunately, brought her to her demise. The same people she had helped, accused her of using black magic and burned her to ashes along with half of the records of her legacy.
Time flew by like the wind, and the blood moon came once again in the 666th year.
The Young Saintess Airellia was brought to this world. She was abducted from the temple and later used on the battlefield when she turned of age after an Alpha found out that her blood had developed into some new kind of poison that could go undetected. Not much was known about her power since then, but one thing's for sure, her blood had killed thousands of enemies without leaving a single trace. When the war ended, she was beheaded as a condition to maintain peace.
No records of fallen Celestials were found after their deaths. Saintess Airellia was believed to be the last of her kind. There were no signs of the blood moon since then, which went on for thousands of years.
===========================
'I can't believe people can be so cruel'
I felt my headache after reading all these tragic deaths of the Goddesses from the Ancient Scriptures.
…
Everyone thought that the Blood Moon Phenomenon was merely a legend, not until 18 years ago when I came into this world. Just like the first 2 Goddesses, I was born on the 666th year on a blood moon and my blood's divinity hadn't developed until I turned of age.
'It seems like fallen Gods were really meant to live a harsh life'
I sighed as reality slapped me hard
I grabbed a glass of water to ease the tension on my body.
'I feel dizzy for some reason since this morning'
...
I started faltering as the surroundings seemed to be spinning around me.
My legs feel wobbly.
My vision went fuzzy and black shortly after.
'Heavens, not again'
I was about to succumb to unconsciousness and prepare myself for a fall, when I felt someone grab me from behind…
"NIGHTFALL!"
The glass I was holding fell to the ground instead.
His eyes widened as a shard of glass pierced through my skin
"OH NO, OH NO! NIGHT! YOU'RE BLEEDING!"
His panicked face was like cold water splashed on my face. He took off his shirt and wrapped it tightly on my right leg. He picked me up and placed me on the bed as he quickly grabbed his med kit to treat me.
'This is just a small wound,' I shook my head and chuckled seeing him panic over something as small as this
"How cute," I whispered to myself
I looked at my leg which had been bleeding profusely.
…
…
'Blood?…..'
...
'That's right! Blood!'
I bit my nails as the tension started building up in my body once again
'If using their blood was the reason that the Goddesses died, then wouldn't that mean that their life was the price for using it?'
I pondered over it for a while trying to consider it as a possibility.
'It's… possible… Our blood must have come with a curse along with its wonders,' it gave me goosebumps that I have come to such a realization.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the door open and he came back with the med kit.
The anxiety was still evident on his face from seeing the blood.
He gritted his teeth and sighed sharply, "Urgh! I shouldn't have taken my eyes off you. I knew this would happen. I'm sorry this was all my fault"
I looked at my wound once more to see if there really is anything to be worried about.
"Pfft this is just a scratch don't worry about it," I patted his head attempting to brush off his frustration
He still looked pissed though, "Even so, I'm your fated mate Night, your pain is also mine! I can't stand seeing you like this!"
That's right, this man in front of me, the one who treats all my wounds so light-handedly as if I am a delicate piece, is my fated mate, Lucien Archen. The next Alpha of the Archen Pack.
Though we haven't officially imprinted yet because we are waiting for the wedding (for political reasons), still, we're almost close to being husband and wife because the Moon Goddess destined us for each other.
He finished treating my wound and put some gauze pad over it.
"Thanks, Luci!," I said and hugged him tightly.
He sighed and hugged me back in return.
"Don't overwork yourself, Nightfall Lotus! Your body hasn't fully adjusted to your divinity yet!"
I chuckled, "Yeah granny, stop nagging. And quit with the full name pweaseeee"
A sudden thought came to my mind while I was in his comforting arms...
'Every blessing comes with a curse'
If I don't use my blood, then would I be safe from this 'curse'?
"Make sure to be careful next time, you know how much the matriarch dowager hated to see your spilled blood," he said while caressing my hair
Was this the reason why the truth about the nature of my birth was kept hidden from the rest of the world? To protect me?
Come to think of it, it's not impossible for me to hide these abilities forever. Unlike the Primordial Goddesses, only my late mother, my father, my grandma (matriarch dowager), and Luci, knew about my ability so far.
And besides, the Goddesses deaths were thousands of years ago, I am not even sure if the blood curse still exists anymore.
I sighed and rested my head on Luci's shoulder
'Though my divine blood remains a mystery, at least I have my loving family on my side to clear my mind and guide me on the right path'.
