"Is that true?" Mira mumbled. Her eyes were looking straight at her, and they were glossy like the sheen from buttons.
At a loss for words at the sudden change in atmosphere, Ines stared wide-eyed, "What?"
"But you left me to die there, I was all alone." Mira tilted her head back and reached towards Ines only to no avail. Upon hitting the space between them—the panel—her body was flung backward and she hit the wall with a nasty thump.
"Mira!" Ines gasped, reaching forward as the older girl did. Her hand froze mid-air, shaking.
Mira's "skin" started peeling off and sizzling as if she had been set on fire, and her face slowly caved in. Lying on the ground like a puppet whose strings had been cut, she venomously glared at Ines.
"Bastard. I resent you," She mumbled. Her words slowly became incoherent as her face slid off, but her eyes never once strayed from Ines, "The chief punished me in your place, you coward."
