[DATE REMOVED]

[WARNING! TREAT THE TAPE WITH GREAT CAUTION AND CARE!]

[00:00:00]

Clèmence: "Charlotte, can you tell me what happened?"

[Loud sobbing noises]

[Inaudible mumbling]

Clèmence: "Would you like a tissue? Take a deep breath, everything will be alri-"

[Loud screaming and breathing noises]

Charlotte: "Alright?! Everything will be- everything will- Madam! She's gone! She's dead! My sister is dead! She's never coming back!"

Clèmence: "I am so sorry for your loss, Charlotte. I understand that you're deeply hurt and grieving, you don't have to tell me right away if that makes you uncomfortable."

[Elongated silence]

Clèmence: "If you like, we can end this session and you can tell me once you feel more comfortable. Does that sound alright to you?"

Charlotte: "…Yes."

[January 6th, 1941]

[00:00:00]

Noémie: "Madam, what was the question again?"

Clèmence: "What is your opinion on Charlotte?"

Noémie: "Oh."

[Silence]

Clèmence: "Any input would do."

Noémie: "I don't like her."

Clèmence: "Why is that, Noémie?"

Noémie: "She's a rat."

Clèmence: "A rat? Why?"

Noémie: "She's a dirty rat who bit back at their owner's hand!"

[Heavy breathing noises and an indistinct screeching noise]

Clèmence: "Noted. Are you perhaps the said owner then?"

[Elongated Silence]

Noémie: "…Must I answer that, Madam Clèmence?"

Clèmence: "No, you do not have to."

Noémie: "May I leave?"

Clèmence: "There is one last final question and then you may leave, Noémie."

Noémie: "What is it?"

Clèmence: "Where were you when Elodie passed?"

[Crashing noises and inaudible whispers]

Clèmence: "Noémie, an answer is required."

Noémie: "That… That… I was with Charlotte, you can ask Odette, she would tell you the same."

Clèmence: "Is that so? Can you tell me what happened?"

Noémie: "No."

Clèmence: "…Alright, noted."

[Scratching noises and creaking noises]

Noémie: "May I leave now?"
