Three years after I was born, I earned enough respect from my parents to start going out to the store with them. I must admit that I was more than excited the first time I went with my dad. There I was sitting like a boss in my booster seat in my parents' car, watching everything roll by as we drove by it.
By the time, I was too young to notice the technological achievements in my town, however, I know and appreciate most of them now. Machines ran our world then and they still do even now, literally.
These achievements didn't catch my eye that day since I was too young to notice any of them. However, something else did. Monsters, actual hairy and huge monsters, moved along the street with humans like you and me and no one seemed surprised. Not knowing what these creatures were at the time, I asked my dad;
"Why are some humans more hairy than the others? Are they sick?"
My father smiled. I don't remember what he actually answered that day but I do know that it was not satisfactory, much like all the answers I got from ma parents every time I asked. However naive young me, having unnecessarily much trust in her parents, took them lying down. So I had to suffer from ignorance for about ten years.
