Chapter 6 - 006: Kwan Xi Yin

After a while, none of those items seemed to pique his interest whatsoever, he rested his chin whilst he stared at the items with a bored expression.

Cao Zhao wore a worried expression when he saw this. "Little Ling, is there anything else that you want for your gift?"

"There's nothing wrong with the gifts. I just didn't find any interest in them." Ling says nonchalantly.

Cao Zhao sighed, "It's okay… You don't have to force it since it's just a tradition, you can choose whatever your future is once you've grown up."

"Thank you, father."

Ling did this deliberately to avoid being controlled by the sect and bounded with them. He doesn't want his life to be wasted in one place like in his previous life any more.

The other family member also understands that a genius child often has their own thoughts already and only the Heavens shall determine his future path.

After that future foretelling failed, Cao Zhao introduced Ling to the sect family members who happened to have children his age.

"Greetings! First Brother Cao Zhao! It's an honor to meet you!" The man wearing a white robe and yet young in appearance greeted the sect leader respectfully by cupping his fist. "Congratulations for your son's very first birthday and also my condolences for your loss."

"Thank you, twelfth brother, Wang Yi. You look young as always!"

"Ah, you are flattering me first brother. Anyway, May I introduce you to my daughter, she's already five years old, this year!"

"Oh, you mean Mei Lin? Time sure flies adults like us."

"Indeed… First brother! Wait, where is she again?! That deviant girl! Mei Lin! Where are you?!"

Wang Yi panicked when Mei Lin was nowhere to be found in the main hall.

A thought flashed into his mind about where she was, "She must have slipped out and climbed the trees in the garden again!"

"Wait here first brother, I will get her very very soon!"

"No need… let her play, she's just a kid after all."

Without listening to Cao Zhao's words, Wang Yi dashed into the door, dividing the guest into two sides.

However, before he exited the main hall, the door opened by themselves. The cold Yin Qi Energy soon permeated into the room.

Cao Zhao rushed to the front door, he immediately knelt before this woman.

"Welcome, Mother-in-law, Kwan Xi Yin. It's been a while since we have you here."

Kwan Xi Yin, the epitome of ethereal beauty, gracefully made her entrance into the main hall, exuding an aura of otherworldly magnificence.

Adorned in a resplendent robe woven with delicate silk threads, her attire was a masterpiece of craftsmanship and enchanted by the finest alchemists.

Although her age was well over hundred years, her unrivaled beauty was able to make all men inside the main hall agape and couldn't mutter a word.

She still looks fair and young like a woman in her early twenties. Endearing and yet so far to reach.

It all thanks to her tedious effort by Cultivating Ice Cold Yin Qi and she attained everlasting beauty when she reached Sage Realm.

Her ashen-white hair cascaded down in lustrous waves, framing a face that could rival the most enchanting moonlit night.

Her flawless porcelain skin, as pale and luminescent as the first rays of dawn, seemed to emit a gentle, celestial glow.

High, elegant cheekbones and a slender, graceful neck lent an air of regality to her countenance.

Kwan Si Yi's eyes, like twin orbs of shimmering jade, captivated all who beheld them.

They held within them the wisdom of the ages, while also carrying a spark of mischief and playfulness.

When she cast her gaze upon someone, it felt as if she could see deep into their very soul, unraveling the mysteries that lay hidden within.

Her lips, like petals of a sacred lotus, were adorned with a faint, captivating smile that held a hint of both warmth and enigma.

With each gentle breath, the air around her seemed to stir, carrying with it a delicate fragrance of Ice Cold Blue Rose, further intoxicating all who stood in her presence

She carried Wang Mei Lin by her back collar like a lady carrying her purse.

"Mei Lin! My dear!" Wang Yi immediately kowtowed before her. "Elder Kwan Xi Yin, please pardon my daughter's insolence if she offended yourself."

"Your daughter did not offend me nor did she make any mistakes. However, you should pay more attention towards your daughter, she fell from the tree and she was lucky enough that I was right below her."

Kwan Xi Yin tossed her onto Wang Yi, her eyes were cold, like a calm mountain lake in peak winter.

Mei Lin sobbed in her father's embrace.

She looked at the guests one after another, and then she fixed her gaze at Ling who sat at the end of the room.

"Cao Zhao, I have heard the news about my daughter's death." She paused for a brief moment. "Did she die in peace and without pain after she gave birth to her son?"

Cao Zhao couldn't mutter a word, he felt ashamed, guilt lingered in his heart since he vowed to take care of Kwan Xi Yue, his beloved wife.

Therefore, Little Ling walked towards his grandmother, he was undaunted despite all of the pressure that Kwan Xi Yin exuded from her sheer presence in the room.

"My mother died after she gave birth to me. Her face was serene and peaceful when she left us. It was brief but I could still feel that part of her soul still remains inside me."

Kwan Xi Yin's eyes widened upon hearing the little kid speaking fluently, and spoke in such profound words.

"Who taught you to talk?" She threw a sharp gaze towards Xiao Wu who stood beside him. "Are you the one who taught my grandson? What's your name, little child?"

Xiao Wu's body stood there, as if she was being petrified by Kwan Xi Yin cold gaze.

However, she was able to gather her courage and replied to her.

"My lowly self couldn't possibly teach  the young master who was gifted by the heavens above, m'lady." Xiao Wu bowed at her.

"I see…" Kwan Xi Yin nodded. "Cao Zhao, you can keep him till he reaches puberty. Once he's ready, you have to bring him to the Ice Cold Mountain and serve my sect to fulfill our agreement when you marry my daughter."
