Talia stumbled into the safehouse deemed the safest place she could ever be as no one except her could ever get into the building without her allowing it.
She went around enabling all the security installations around the house both magical and technology driven before been able to breathe a bit easy. Talia walked into the secret room after scanning through the magical sensors placed in the secret enclosure on the wall.
"Welcome back, Talia" the mechanical voice of the AI greeted her immediately she stepped into the room
"I need feeds from all cameras around Whitefield now " She spoke to the AI she had refused to name since she kept calling it AI.
There was only about five seconds of wait before holographic depictions of camera recordings surrounded her in the room. She picked the one on her right that showed the battle with the king; if it could be called that in full view of the security camera around the area.
She watched the video with both fear and awe, taking note of the fluidity of the king's movement against such powerful machineries. She watched the scene where the wings unfurled out if his back before his flight and even in the midst of her wonder and surprise as to how a vampire could possess wings, she couldn't help but marvel at the otherworldly beauty of the bright orange colored wings, they seemed to change colors as the light hit them but she couldn't be sure it wasn't just her eyes playing tricks on her at that moment. she was some engrossed in watching and rewatching the motions that she didn't notice the shadow standing at the corner of the room until it spoke out
"Your staring won't give you answers."
Talia turned to face the source of the voice while simultaneously powering up the defensive mechanisms on her uniform but she took a step back when she saw noting but a shadow in the shape of a human standing behind her
"What are you?" she took up a defensive stance as she womdered how on earth he could have gotten past the safehouse's defenses
The shadow made a show of raising its hand "I mean you no harm."
"How did you get in?" she demanded angrily
"I'm not truly here, so your defenses are useless against me."
"Who are you and what do you want?" Talia asked with a growl
"The king." the shadow made a motion she assumed to be pointing at the camera
"What about him?" she asked
"You hate him." It wasn't a question, the shadow made the statement like he knew what exactly he was talk about.
"I'm an assassin, I was paid to do a job."
"You have allies, we both want one thing." The shadow said to her
"What is that?" she asked
The shadow sighed"We both want the king out."
"I don't even know you."
"You don't have to, join me to put an end to this oppression."
"I work better alone thank you." She said to him
" I knew you'd say that." The shadow cocked it's head to the side and there was a clicking sound from the shadow before it turned it's full attention back to her again and she caught a glimpse of dark brown eyes before it quickly dissapeared.
"They are coming." The shadow said to her before it started fading away 'If you change your mind go to the Midnight club in Whitefield." That was the last thing she heard the shadow say before an explosion rumbled through the entire building and almost brought it down
"What's that?" she asked the AI
"seems like particle disrupting explosives, the gate to the building has been blown off to particles."
"Do you have any idea who they are?" Talia asked as she went to pick up her thistle made weapons which included her sword and shield and prepared for the battle ahead of her.
"They appear to be wearing the colors of the vampire army." The AI answered and Talia froze in shock as to how quickly the vampire ay found her, she went through all motions and tried to recollect a point in time when she was ever sloppy in getting back to her safehouse but found none which only meant the vampire army had found her through their own cunning and intelligence.
Talia walked out of the secret room into the main room of tje building and stood ready behind her door waiting for the attackers to come in while paying attention to the updates provided her by her AI.
"In 3, 2, 1..."The AI had barely finished counting when the doors gave way to the sheer force of the vampire onslaught on it.The first vampire that rushed in was a burly looking man she was able to catch by surprise and plunge her sword directly into his heart as he stepped in.
She was irritated by the black blood spilling from where her sword had torn into, she pulled out her sword with a wet squelch and moved to the side in time to avoid the stab of the talons of the next vampire directly behind her, she counted four vampires standing in her living room.
"I'm sure we can settle this amicably." She tried to stall them in order to think of her best plan of action against vsmpures if such size abd strength, she knew only the element of surprise had allowed her kill off one of the vampires before.
The first one charged towards her with a growl, swinging his sword with such force that her arm vibrated from the effort of the block. Talia stepped back in an effort to regain her bearings from the shock but the vampires would have none of that, two of them including the one whose sword she parried, stalked towards her red eyes blazing and attacked her from both sides, Talia did her best to block attacks from the second vampires talons but it left her side open to the other's sword and she yelped in pain when it cut through her armor and hot blood spilled from her side. Not giving her time to recover they began attacking again this time one behind and one in front of her, she decided to discard her sword as it proved useless in such short range against the force of the vampires attacks and brought out her small knife but the injury at her side hindered any hope of her matching the both vampires, so she decided to focus on one with the talons while keeping an eye on the other, after being on the defensive for too long she finally found her opening when he left himself open in an attempt to take a swipe at her and she went im immediately for the kill, in doing so she left her back open directly to the line of the sword of the next vampire and it slid into her without any resistance. Talia and the vampire in front of her both went down with a thud. She hit the ground wondering why the rest of the two vampires didn't participate in the fight
"Greetings from the king." The sword wielding vampire said as he took out a knife to stab her.
Talia closed her eyes bracing for the final blow but a bright light shone in the room before all went black.
