Chapter 16 - The Magus Book

Dou Bali's doubt wasn't for no reason, Jin had previously asked for the Hermit Herb in exchange for his training advice, Dou Bai had a bad habit of being talkative and exaggerating his reactions, Before hearing the answer, he complained about his luck and hugged the book to his chest.

"How could you do this to me, my friend? I cannot buy it, and I cannot give it up after it has fallen into my hands. Why all this mean? You know well that even if I sold myself, I wouldn't be able to pay the price for such a skill."

Jin informed him that the book was his, and they went on the mission together, but seeing Duo Bai's hugging the book made him want to provoke him even more.

"Selling yourself is not a bad idea. Why don't you hold onto this?"

Jin threw his dagger at Dou Bai, and as soon as he caught it, the magical circle drawn on the dagger shone. Dou Bai took a few steps back, coughing, feeling his body boiling with heat but not producing a single drop of sweat. Instead, white smoke came out of his skin's pores, covering his entire body.

After it dissipated, the surprise made him scream in madness.

"Ah... you turned me into a girl! What have you done to me?" Dou Bai now looked like the girl named Atrecia, even his clothing changed with his appearance.

"You look beautiful. Selling yourself in this new form will cover the cost of the skill book. What do you say?"

Dou Bai's eyes, which had become big and beautiful, were red, and he screamed in a female voice.

"I'll kill you, you bastered! I'll break your bones. How could you do this to me? I won't live the remaining years of my life as a girl. I was born a man, and if I were born a woman..."

While Dou Bai was screaming in anger, Jin could barely contain his laughter, as despite his anger, Dou Bai was still talking non-stop and hugging the book tightly. He did not even bargain with Jin to return to his natural form in exchange for the book.

It didn't last long before Dou Bai threw the dagger from his hand and returned to his natural form, while Jin burst out laughing, holding his stomach.

"Did you believe it? It was just an illusion magic circle drawn on the dagger used for disguise. Stop hugging the book. It's yours from the mission, and I won't ask you for anything in return."

Dou Bai was already angry at Jin's deception, but he didn't dare to do anything afraid of losing his precious book. He contented himself with saying aggressively, "I will tell your mother everything, and I will make her take revenge for me."

Jin shuddered, knowing that his mother's anger was not something to be taken lightly. She had insane ways of punishing people, most likely making Mei cook for him.

Jin as the older brother, no matter what Mei cooked, and of course, the word "thing" here is the accurate description of what his little sister made, from sweet vermicelli to hot sweet soup, he would find himself forced to swallow the strangest things so as not to upset her.

Quickly, Jin took out two spiritual pills to please Dou Bai.

"I forgot to give you these. You can exchange them for a level-three monster core, which will be useful for your break through, and don't involve my mother in this matter."

Upon seeing the pills, Dou Bai jumped to snatch them from his hand.

"Thank you, brother. I didn't expect you to be a mage. You're amazing. Mages are rare in our kingdom. But you still have to tell me how you managed to gather all of this in detail. But first, let's hurry up and go back. I want to take a bath... a bath... a bath."

Dou Bai kept repeating the same word, and his facial expressions became strange as he stared at the magical circle drawn on the dagger.

Jin was surprised, and before he could ask him what was wrong, Dou Bai said to him

"Can I borrow the dagger from you for a while?"

"Stay away from me, you pervert."

.............................

After returning home, Jin closed the door to his room and took out everything he had obtained in the past few weeks. From Monroe's house, a hundred thousand silver coins and three skill books, one of which could be upgraded to an advanced level, and was suitable for girls, so he decided to leave it for Mei.

From the ruins, four wooden beads (he didn't know their purpose), two spiritual pills, two books, a spiritual sword, and Hermit Herb. Although the sword could be sold for a good sum of money , he preferred not to do so because he hadn't yet formed his spiritual body, so he could use it without harming himself. It would be a temporary means of protection.

As for the pills, they would help him raise his level later. As for the two books, one was a medium-level attack skill called "Explosive Punch," which he thought would be good with his only defensive skill, "Autumn Leaf," his only skill currently. Finally, the book that was without a title, after examining it for some time, he realized that the book's pages had been assembled in the wrong order.

Therefore, he opened it and rearranged it, and to his surprise, the first page had a single sentence in the middle that read, "Magical spells for transforming the physical structure," written by the Magus...

Jin's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible, a book by a mage ranked "Magus" that allows for the transformation of the physical structure?"

Jin didn't lift his head from the book. He thought that obtaining this book was more than just a coincidence, as this magic contained a condition that may be the only one in the world that applies to him. He read those lines again, still in disbelief.

"The body is the vessel of the soul, and any attempt to modify it will lead to the destruction of the soul's form, but in the midst of the world of development and before the formation of the entity, the soul is temporarily separated from the body, resulting in a slight change in the physical structure. Supporting this change with magic changes the blood and cells, renewing the body and acquiring strength and immunity."

Jin squeezed his brain to remember all the details of living in this body. He had to be a hundred percent sure if he wanted to use this technique.

"A technique for separating the soul from the body, no doubt he is talking about a forbidden technique. I have used a similar technique before when I killed the plague. I remember well that after returning in time, the soul that inhabited this body disappeared before my eyes, and for a few minutes, the body remained motionless before my soul merged with it. There is no room for doubt, my body meets the conditions."

Jin was excited about the prospect, but his joy did not last when he reached the second stage. Studying magical circles of this level is extremely difficult, especially for a beginner like Jin. True, his control over mana was excellent, and he mastered many magical circles, surpassing his peers.

But he was not skillful enough to understand a book written by a "Magus". In the end, he had no choice but to surrender.

"Damn, it's impossible for me to execute a magical circle of this level. I'll need the help of a great Magus."

He fell silent for a moment before being overwhelmed by astonishment. "A great Magus, what's happening to me? How can all of these coincidences occur at once, and on the same day? Is it possible that this Magus can see the future?"

Jin's astonishment was justified. How could he come across a book with such power, with conditions that only apply to him, and with a great Magus who happened to be his guest today?
