LIVIE'S POV. -
Laying on the bed, I stared at the ceiling aimlessly. Andy left after dropping me home and Dad hasn't returned yet. I tried to call him but he sent me a text saying that he'll be late. So I just decided to rest as I was not feeling very well. Everything that happened today was playing in my mind like a flick. Me going to the restaurant, Lucian being there, our meeting, and then...
I turned to the side trying to get some sleep but my thoughts were running like a roller coaster, making it hard for me to even close my eyes. The window was wide open. Dim moonlight entered my room through the cleft of curtains. It fell on the shiny dream catcher hanging in my window, which caused it to split and form a beautiful rainbow in my room. My lips tucked upwards looking at the shades on the wall of my room.
"Your eyes remind me of Blue Moon. They look like the shadow of Blue Moon falling in the dark sea, illuminating it in his light as the sea moved with calmness hiding the deep and dark secret under it."
My mind repeated Lucian's words nonchalantly while my eyes kept staring at the wall. "Blue Moon." I whisper while sitting up straight. Removing the covers, I let my feet touch the ground as a wave of sudden coldness made me shiver. I walked towards the mirror, standing in front of it. Looking at the reflection of myself, I couldn't help but gaze at my eyes.
I've never done this before. But today I felt the urge to look at my own eyes. Do they really look like a Blue Moon? They had a light hue of blue. But why did I never notice this before that they look like the blue moon's shadow falling on the sea?
I was so immersed in staring at my eyes that when someone knocked on my door it had me jump in fear. My hand went to my chest as I kept looking at the door until it got knocked again. Startled, I took a deep breath and walked towards the door before opening it.
"Dad?" I looked at him standing on my doorframe with a gentle smile.
"You didn't sleep yet?" He asked looking around my room as I just sighed lowly.
"Yeah. I was about to. But when did you come? And what are you doing here?" I slid away from the door to let him enter but he stood in the same place just looking at me. "Dad?" I again called out for him when he didn't answer me for a while.
He took a deep breath before walking inside my room. "I come to tell you something." He went and stood in the middle of my room before facing me. "I need to leave for some business." His words made me confused.
"What?" I walk closer to him without breaking eye contact. "Leave where? And why?"
He again took a deep breath. His hands held on my shoulders while he just smiled at me. "I have to take care of some work. That's why I need to go. I'll be away for a while. You will take care of yourself, right?" His voice was heavy. I didn't know how to react as I just stared at him.
"But why so sudden?" I asked now breaking the eye contact and staring at his feet. I don't like it whenever he leaves me alone. It's so hard to not see him around. "Is it really important?" My puppy eyes peeked at him making him chuckle.
"Oh squirrel. If it wasn't important, would I have left you like this?" He asked now embracing me in a warm hug. He was right. He never left me until it was something really important. I sigh hugging him tightly.
"Fine. But how long?" I asked parting away as he cleared his throat and looked away. My eyebrows furrowed seeing him avoid my gaze. "Dad." I sternly called him making him bring back his gaze on me. "How long?"
"1 month." My mouth was agape at his revelation. Is he for really? How am I supposed to survive without him for 1 whole month?
"What?!!" The shock was an understatement. He guiltily glanced at me. "Are you kidding me? You're leaving me for 1 month? 1 FREAKING MONTH?" His face scrunched before he narrowed his eyes.
"Why? Don't you leave me alone when you have to go for your shoots and all?" His question made me shut my mouth and look away. "And it's just a month. You'll be fine. Don't worry." He cupped my cheek before turning my face towards him. The reassuring smile on his face made my heart feel at ease.
"Fine." I said grumpily as he smiled widely and hugged me again. But something about his sudden departure was bugging me. What is it that's so much important?
TIME SKIP -
I was sitting in the hall while Dad was packing his stuff. He told me that he informed Tina about his trip and asked her to stay with me until he returned. Obviously, He needs someone to spy on me when he's not around.
Dad comes out of his room with his luggage. I didn't budge from my place. I was still angry. "Squirrel. Won't you give me a goodbye hug?" He asked sweetly only for me to scoff and turn my head to other way. "C'mon."
His words were interrupted by the doorbell. "Oh, it must be Tina." He said and went to open the door while I was stiff on my place. I heard some faint noises before Tina entered the hall all excited.
"Hey babe." She came and jumped beside me on the sofa proceeding to tightly hug me. "I'm so excited. We're gonna live together for 1 month." Her excitement was visible in her joyful voice. But I was worried. "Hey?" She nudged me when I didn't show any reaction to her.
"She's a little angry." Dad said making me glare at him.
"Yes, I am. Thank you for appreciating." I sarcastically said causing both Tina and Dad to look at each other. Tina stood up from her place as Dad walked towards me and sat beside me. His hand caressed my head.
"Livie. Try to understand. It is important. And I promise, I'll be back as soon as possible." His words made my heart weak as I looked at him.
"Promise?" I asked with a disheartened voice making him smile sadly before he gave me a side hug.
"Promise." I couldn't help but weep in his arms as he comforted me as much as possible. "I have to leave now." he said as we parted away and he placed a tender kiss on my forehead. "Take care of yourself. I've told Andy. He'll come to visit whenever he's free." I just nodded not knowing what to do.
Dad got up to leave as I watched him collect his luggage and walk out of my sight. Before exiting, he turned around and gave me a small smile. "Take care you both." My lips curved seeing his smile and just like that, he left.
My heart felt heavy. I kept staring at the door until Tina came and sat beside me. "Livie?" She placed her hand on my back and rubbed it in a comforting manner.
"I'm going to miss him, a lot." I whisper resting my head on her shoulder as she keeps consoling me.
This is gonna be really tough.
