'Goodbye Luka, rest easy.' Minos thought, as he gave the burial one final glance before leaving.
…
Meanwhile, while Minos was leaving, dozens of other people had gathered at the area where the earth collapsed, looking at the sunken spot with interest.
By now, quite a few people had entered this grand city, the majority of them wandering around without any goals in sight.
But the loud collapse instantly gathered them together, all the Guild Master's being among the crowd.
As the strongest people within the realm, their journeys were naturally the easiest, and they managed to find this place quickest.
They had even arrived before Minos, he just didn't know that, having just barely missed them.
"What do you guys think happened?" Gidon asked, the leader of the Talisman Guild.
"What's the point of making guesses? Let's just dig to the bottom and find out for ourselves." The towering man from before said.
"Be reasonable Teeton, while we're strong, this isn't a job we can accomplish by ourselves." A beautiful woman said, leader of the Formation Guild.
"Shenda has a point, but who said we have to work by ourselves, don't we have an abundance of physical labor all around us?" Another guild leader said with a slight laugh as he looked around at the dense crowd that had gathered.
"But what about the tools? Are we meant to just let them dig with their own two-hands?" Gidon asked.
"Don't we have an entire realm's resources to use? You guys gather the materials and I'll have my men craft some shovels and the like." Teeton replied.
With Teeton's remark, everyone soon nodded in agreement, deciding that his method was best.
"Alright, we'll split into five teams! The Scouting Team will find resources, the Lumber Team will get wood, the Mining Team will do exactly that, the Transfer Team will transfer the resources back here, and finally, the Crafting Team, which will make the tools!" Teeton said loudly after they had all agreed on this plan.
With the teams made, everyone got to work, meanwhile, Minos had just gotten back outside, looking at the scurrying people with a bit of curiosity.
With a glance from his Omniscient Eyes, he immediately realized what was going on, and he honestly had no desire to exhaust himself here.
Slowly sneaking away, Minos made his way back to the tower wall, walking into the darkness as he ignited a Shining Talisman.
"Minos?" A weak voice asked from a distance, having seen him immediately.
"Siar? How are you feeling." Minos asked, slowly walking up beside her.
"Good, I think my health is improving." Siar said with a weak smile.
"Good to hear."
"Anyways, what happened? Did you meet anyone?" Siar asked curiously.
While Minos trusted Siar, he naturally wouldn't disclose anything unless he had to, this was just how he operated, so he only told her he had heard a loud bang before joining the rest of the group.
"The earth collapsed? What do you think is down there?" Siar asked again.
"Who knows, but we'll find out soon."
"You're right, but it's just good to know that we've finally found the others. Do you mind taking me over to my Guild Master, he should have some pills that can help me."
"No problem, but to be honest, I snuck off before they saw me, so when we go back, don't say anything. I don't want to leave a bad impression." Minos said.
"Hahah, no problem." Siar said with a laugh, finding this side of Minos a bit silly.
Of course she had no idea Minos's true purpose of saying this, which was simply to close off the loose-ends of his story, but it was good that she found it funny.
Smiling, Minos gently placed Siar back over his shoulder before making his way towards the center of the city.
Having already confirmed there were no dangers here besides Luka, who was already dead, he sprinted at full speed.
With his maximum speed, it didn't take much time to return to the collapsed area, the Guild Master's all standing around the sunken pit as they threw out commands.
As Minos walked up, two figures immediately looked towards him. The first was naturally Gidon, however the other was an unfamiliar face.
"Minos? It's good to see you, boy." Gidon said happily.
"It's good to see you as well, Guild Master." Minos said, returning the smile.
"Siar! My heaven's, what happened to you!" The other man shouted loudly, almost immediately appearing beside Minos.
"It's okay Guild Master, I'm fine." Siar said, raising her head with all her strength to look at him.
"You call this fine? Quick, eat this, it should help you." The man said, pulling a pill from his spatial ring and shoving down Siar's throat.
Swallowing the pill, Siar's pale face quickly regained some color, some red reappearing on her cheeks as her blood began flowing properly again.
"How do you feel?" The man asked.
"Much better." Siar said, this time being honest.
"Let me take her."
Nodding, Minos gently placed Siar into the man's hands, Siar taking one final deep glance into Minos's eyes before the two walked off.
Waving her a goodbye, Minos rejoined Gidon, who quickly explained to him what exactly had happened.
"So tell me, what team do you want to join?"
"Let me join the Transfer Team." Minos said after some slight consideration.
While the Transfer Team required a lot of running, it was at least better than mining or chopping wood, meanwhile Minos didn't want to disclose his Weapon Refining talent, so the Crafting Team was also not a choice.
As for the Scouting Team, Minos didn't want to spend extended periods outside the walls, after all it was much more dangerous out there.
"Good, then I'll put you in charge. Just record all the materials and send them off to the proper spots, no running required." Gidon said, using his position to make things easier on Minos.
"Thank you, Guild Master." Minos replied, more than happy to take on this easy role.
With his position decided, Minos soon arrived at an empty house that had been turned into the 'Transfer Department.'
Gidon had already loudly announced his position, so after entering the house, he was quickly guided to the main seat by a young man.
This role had pretty much just been made up by Gidon on the spot, so Minos didn't have any real work, just kicking his legs up on his desk as he relaxed.
Of course while he was physically relaxing, his mind was running through all the information he gained these past few days.
This didn't just include the things he acquired from Luka, but also all the knowledge he had gleaned with his Omniscient Eyes, the bulk of which coming from Siar.
Usually Minos didn't use this method, finding that acquiring knowledge systematically worked better, but he didn't have much of an option here, so with his eyes shut, he began running through all his memory stores, turning what was others, into his.
While some people were dissatisfied seeing Minos snoozing away on his comfy chair, they didn't dare say anything, aware that he was backed by Gidon.
…
The next few days passed in a flash, Minos spending most of his time just relaxing, occasionally meeting Siar to see how she was doing.
After all these days, plus the constant supply of pills from the Alchemy Guild Master, she quickly recovered, and after only a week, she was as good as new.
Sitting in his office like usual one day, a knock came to his door, Minos letting them in to reveal Siar, a big smile on her face.
Minos hadn't ever really taken a proper look at her, but now that she was all healed up and clean, he couldn't help but acknowledge her beauty.
"What're you up to?" Siar asked.
"Nothing, same as usual." Minos said with a laugh as Siar took a seat across from him.
"Is that so? You haven't really visited me these few days, so I thought you were up to something. Turns out you'd just forgotten me." Siar said, moping playfully.
"Haven't you been visiting me?"
"That isn't the same." Siar said with a harrumph.
"My mistake, I'll definitely come visit you in the future."
"Good! But let's save the visits for after we leave this place."
"What do you mean? Has something happened?"
"You haven't heard? The excavation is done so it's time to leave!" Siar said happily, excited to finally leave the place that had nearly killed her.
"Really? What did they find?"
"Who knows, the Guild Master's refused to say, so it's a mystery." Siar replied.
