Chapter 158 - Playing The Flute

"Like this!" Tinka said, as she tunneled into the bedsheets and proceeded to do something that Minos would rather keep to himself.

With Tinka reigniting the heat, the two immediately got back into it, spending the next few hours showing each other everything they had.

It was only when Tinka was thoroughly exhausted did Minos finally stop, even though he was still filled with vitality.

Instead he took this chance to give the flute another test, trying to mimic the tune Tinka had previously taught him.

With his incredible memory and muscle control, he managed to easily replay the music Tinka had created.

Despite that, it still felt like something was missing, as if he had copied the body, but not the soul.

Looking at Tinka laid gently across his chest, the answer suddenly came to mind, emotions!

When Tinka blew the flute, she was doing it out of love for Minos, but in his case, he was only doing it for fun.

Copying physical skills was one thing, but replicating the emotions behind them, that was naturally impossible.

It was something he had to understand himself, not an ability that could be copied, so closing his eyes, Minos began recalling memories.

From what he felt, each song had its own emotions that would best support it. For example, if he was to play a happy tune, then naturally it wouldn't sound as good if his own mood was sad.

The music Tinka played was like a soldier finally coming home, the peace and love that came over his family when he first stepped through the doors to their home.

Minos tried to recall memories that fit such an emotion, and luckily for him, he had just felt such an emotion earlier this morning.

Breathing rhythmically, Minos attempted to call upon those feelings and manifest them, but it was much harder than he initially thought.

For things such as emotions that happened organically, it was extremely hard to recreate them in the moment.

Despite how hard he thought, he just couldn't get himself to feel the same way he did this morning, causing him to become slightly frustrated.

It seemed this was the true test of an artist's talent, how well they could call upon these feelings and bring them to life in their own work.

Just as Minos was about to put the flute aside and try this again at another time, he suddenly remembered the Heart Path, more specifically, the new ability he had unlocked.

Deciding to give it a test, Minos calmed his heart before linking to his Life Nux, trying to control the time to only a day ago.

While it was extremely hard to go further back, it was much easier to recall something recent, so after only a few attempts, he was dragged back to that moment.

But he was soon unsatisfied, because while the Life Nux let him see the moment, it failed to let him feel it.

Disappointed, Minos opened his eyes back in the present, not completely satisfied. Trying again, this time Minos linked his own love aura rather than his Life Nux.

Again, Minos was dragged backwards a few hours, but this time things were completely different.

Rather than looking at everything from an eagle-eye perspective, he was back in his own body, feeling the moment in its fullest.

Walking along the beach with Tinka, everything was somewhat blurry, and the sound seemed to be completely muted.

But looking to his side, he could see Tinka moving her lips, saying something happily, though he couldn't hear her.

Despite that, Minos's heart swelled, the feeling of love, happiness, and peace he felt in that moment came back in totality, as if he was relieving it all.

Opening his eyes once more, Minos looked around at the small cabin, and towards Tinka who was still resting peacefully.

With a smile on his face, he picked the flute back up, playing the song once more, but this time, everything was different.

The music was tinged with Minos's own heart, causing everyone who listened to it to begin recalling their own moments of love.

The tribe member's couldn't help but stop working for a moment as they listened to the song that spread across the village.

Some recalled when their children were born, the endless love that seemed to overflow from their hearts as they held their baby for the first time.

Others thought of their parents, who had raised and nurtured them, and always provided for them no matter how hard times got.

Whereas others naturally thought about their partners, the moment they first laid eyes on each other and love that never seemed to stop giving afterwards…

Regardless of who it was, everyone thought back on their own loves, some even driven to tears as the memories reopened sealed wounds.

Minos was completely unaware of such an effect, just pouring his heart and soul into the music.

Tinka was also woken up at this moment, but she didn't say anything, instead just listening to the music with a big smile on her face and her cheeks blushed.

With a final blow, the song finally came to an end, everyone waking up from their reveries, only just remembering that they were working a moment ago.

They all unconsciously looked towards the cabin where the sound originated, and they immediately knew it must have been Tinka or Minos's doing.

But despite some of them wanting to go check first hand, they knew now wasn't the time, so with a sigh, they continued with their work, their emotions still in slight turmoil.

"That was amazing! How did you do that?" Tinka asked with love, as Minos gently placed the flute down.

"You." Minos said with a gentle smile as he pulled Tinka closer.

Despite not understanding Minos's answer, Tinka was still happy to hear it, just returning Minos's hug as the two rested.

After a quick nap, Tinka was finally rested and recovered, and since the day was still young, they couldn't waste it away in the cabin.

"What do you want to do?" Minos asked.

"Hmm, oh yeah! Teach me how to refine weapons, we didn't get a proper chance last time." Tinka responded excitedly.

Smiling, Minos nodded in agreement, the two heading for a quiet spot before Minos picked back up where they had stopped last time.

This time, there were no interruptions to get in their way, so they spent the entire day learning.

Minos didn't have any plans recently, so he decided to spend the next month here and check out the Ancient Desert Kingdom afterwards.

For the first time in ever, Minos and Tinka finally had a proper chance to truly bond and spend time together.

In the morning, Minos would teach Tinka how to refine, and in turn, Tinka would help Minos further polish his sculpting skills.

When afternoon came, the two would play along the beach, swimming and splashing as they enjoyed the tropical weather.

After that, the two would head into the Underwood Mountain Range, enjoying the scenery and sense of adventure.

When the sun began setting, the two would head back and have a final meal with Ronkus and Meninka, before heading back to the cabin.

And finally, before heading to bed, the two did some 'exercise,' exhausting themselves completely such that sleep came easy.

It was a blissful life, and the happiest Minos had felt in a long, long time, but the happier he was, the more he hungered for power, knowing that only it could maintain this joy forever.

"Look what I made for you." Minos said with a smile as he handed a small intricately made wooden bracelet to Tinka.

"Beautiful! Your skills are already better than mine!" Tinka said joyfully, not even slightly envious of Minos's talent.

"Well, I learned from the best." Minos responded with a laugh, twirling Tinka's light body into the air.

"Heheh, and I taught the best!" Tinka giggled happily, as Minos spun her through the sky.

Placing her back down, Minos's smile suddenly faded slightly, causing Tinka to reach out and firmly grasp his hand.

"You're sad about tomorrow, aren't you?" Tinka asked, trying her best to maintain her smile, though her mood was also affected.

"I don't want to leave, but I have to…" Minos said with a sigh, as if trying to seek forgiveness.

"Minos, no matter where you go, my heart will always be with you, so fly freely and dominate the skies, so that I can say proudly, that Minos is my husband!"

"Your eyes are my eyes, so see the world for me. Your fists are my fists, so fight the world for me, and your heart is my heart, so experience the world for me!"
