Liam managed to get 3 shots on the leg before having to back out as the scythe of the Death Knight was heading towards him at a fast speed.
The blade of the weapon missed him by no more than an inch and Liam knew he would lose a lot of life if he took the hit. He certainly doesn't want to die and have to start over again.
With it's attack missing the Death Knight roared loadly after which the horse started to build up power.
'Is it doing the big move again?' Liam questioned as he watched a large purple ball of fire appear in the mouth of the horse.
Before the attacked was fired off Liam was already in the process of getting out of the way and then the horse fired the massive fireball. The mass a fire flew at incredible speeds but since Liam was already in the process of avoidance the attack flew past him with ease.
The resulting explosion caused a crater in the floor about 5 feet deep and the fire continued to linger in the hole after.
Liam wasn't worried about this as he was paying attention to the Death Knight that seemed sluggish again after the attack. Liam took advantage and used
At this point Liam had caused about 50% damage to the Death Knight and he noticed that there was no real change in its attack pattern this time.
'Hmm no change this time. We'll it's not a boss so that's good news for me.' Liam was glad nothing new happened as he really wants the fight to finish, fatigue was still plaguing him and he was somehow powering through.
After 15 minutes another 25% of the Death Knights health was dropped but Liam was running on fumes.
It was also at this point that a change did occur. Purple flames started covering the entire horse making it look even more frightening. As Liam got close to attack the monster he noticed that his own HP was slowly dropping whenever he got close.
Thankfully the decrease wasn't big but he didn't know if it would get worse. It also meant Liam now had to finish this fight as soon as he could as he only as a finite number of health potions and he was certain they would be needed further in the dungeon.
The Death Knight swung it's scythe at its attacker but came up empty as Liam rolled out the way. He also noticed that his health wasn't dropping now.
'Seems like I take damage if I get too close.'
The Death Knight roared and used it's charge attack at Liam who had to roll quickly to the side. He still took the small ticks of damage as it passed by and watched as the Death Knight came charging again instantly.
This happened twice more and Liam noticed as his HP dropped even more due to the flames covering the horse. He was just thankful that it isn't critical just yet but knew he couldn't get him. He had a feeling that he would get one shot if he took a single hit.
As the Death Knight wasn't moving after it's charges Liam did his own and got two attacks in before he backed up. He was keeping a close watch on his own life as he knew a potion use was coming soon.
The Death Knights pattern didn't change. It attacked Liam when he was close and using it's charge attack every 20 seconds keeping Liam in a more defensive stance, especially due to the constant small life drops when they were close.
In this time Liam had used 2 of his potions to keep his life up. He was getting anxious as he noticed that he would lose more life from the fire as the Death Knights HP dropped making his own attack windows shorter.
Once the Knights life dropped below 5% Liam was expecting the monster to have a last minute strength spurt but gratefully that didn't happen. But the flames covering the horse got darker coming closer to black in colour.
Once the flames were completely black the horse started to charge up its big attack. There was one large difference, the fireball was the same colour as the ones covering the horses body and it was still growing bigger.
Liam looked at this scene and his pupils shrank.
"What the fuck?"
Liam couldn't help but curse out loud before he started running to the left. The horse was still charging it's attack but was following Liam as he moved.
The fireball reached a massive 5 metres across and Liam could feel the scorching heat coming from it. The horse took a second to aim at Liam before firing the massive ball at him.
Liam continued to move as the attack drew closer at a fast speed however it seemed that Liam wasn't moving fast enough before the attack was in front of him. Liam has no time to think and just dived over as far as he could and seemingly managed to avoid the attack.
But that was only the first part of the move. Once it hit the ground the explosion that follow was massive and unfortunately for Liam he got caught. He watched as his HP started dropping fast and thought that he has wasted his time.
His life bar was in the red and was slowing down before stopping on the number 2. Liam was sweating bullets and heaved a sigh of relief when his HP bar stop. He looked over at the Death Knight and saw it in the weaken state again.
Liam noticed the flames on the horse where gone so instead of healing his own life he charged at the Death Knight and dropped the last of its health.
"Finally beat it." Liam was relieved when he saw the monster finally die however he knew he still had a fight left to finish so pulled out another potion to heal up before the necromancer started attacking again.
