Miss Barrow returned home from a hard day's work. It was a dark and gloomy night.
All the lights were off at Miss Barrow's house when she drove into the driveway, Which she found odd as Sarah normally wasn't asleep until later, so Miss Barrow decided to check on her. Miss Barrow unlocked the door of her home and entered her home, which was completely silent.
"Sarah!" Miss Barrow called out.
There was no response.
"Sarah sweetheart, are you ok?" Miss Barrow called out again.
There was still no response and Miss Barrow was beginning to worry, so she decided to check on Sarah, She got to Sarah's bedroom
door and opened it with a creak.
"Sarah, are you ok?" Asked Miss barrow.
There was no reply.
"Sarah," cried Miss Barrow once more, but there was still no answer.
Miss Barrow turned on the room light and saw Sarah's empty bed, Which worried her because Sarah never spent the night anywhere without telling her. Miss Barrow checked the room for a note or something that could tell her we're sarah was.
But there was nothing. No note, no message, no sign of where Sarah could be.
Miss Barrow's heart raced with fear and worry. She couldn't understand how Sarah could just disappear without a trace. She quickly called The parents of Sarah's friends .
Miss Barrow chose to call Olivia's parents in the hope that Sarah was with Olivia and forgot to tell her. Miss Barrow called Olivia's parents and tried to keep it together. Olivia's mum finally answered.
"Mary, is Sarah with you?" Miss Barrow asked.
"No, sorry, Deirdre, I was just about to call you and ask if Olivia was with you because she's not home yet."mrs. Meadows told Miss Barrow.
"Something is wrong. I can tell, they should have been home by now, It's not like them to not come home or let us know. I think we should call Lottie, and see if Hannah's home. When I spoke to Sarah this morning, she said they were all going to the beach and would come back later." Said miss Barrow.
"They can't still be at the beach. It's dark. Maybe they went to Lottie's with Hannah and forgot to mention it. As you said, Hannah was going with them, so if she's home, then perhaps she knows where they are. You shouldn't be too concerned, they're probably fine they probably just lost track of time at Hannah's" said mrs meadows, trying to reassure Miss Barrow.
Miss Barrow agreed then ended the call, To call Hannah's mum. who confirmed that Hannah wasnt with her and that neither her or Hannah dad had seen the girls since they went to the beach earlier that day.
Panic began to set in as Miss Barrow realized that she had no idea where her daughter was and at least 2 of her friends where also missing.
Miss barrow quickly ended the call again and called Megan's parents hoping that The girls had all just gone to Megan's house she didn't want to think what the alternative could mean.
Mr. and Mrs. Denver were watching television and resting when they received the phone call.
Mrs. Denver got up to answer it.
"Hello, Deirdre," responded Mrs. Denver.
"Jean Have you spoken to Megan since this morning when she left to go out because I've
just had a concerning call from. Mary saying that Olivia hasn't returned home and Hannah isn't
home either or is Sarah I thought Sarah was with them, but she's not. Now I'm concerned, please tell me she's with the others at
yours?" Miss Barrow asked.
"No, I'm sorry they're not here. Megan isn't home either, I thought she was with everyone
else. I believe they went to the beach, I don't know where they are at the moment but I doubt
they're at the beach when it's dark," Mrs. Denver told miss barrow.
"Lottie and Mary are worried, it's not like the girls to not to come home. Have you spoken with
Megan at all since this morning?" Miss barrow asked with some concern.
"No, I haven't. I saw her this morning. She told me they were going to the beach , but I haven't heard from her since. I can get William to try and call her if you want?" offered Mrs. Denver.
"Yes, please do. Something doesn't feel right. Sarah or the others wouldn't just disappear without telling us , " said Miss Barrow, her voice trembling with worry.
"William, can you go and try to get hold of Megan, please? The other girls didn't make it home, and Megan was with them. They're not the kind of people who don't come home or tell anybody where they've gone,?" Asked Mrs. Denver.
"Yeah, I'll do that now. I was starting to get a bit worried about her. It's almost 9 o'clock. She should have returned home by now" said Mr. Denver.
After that, Mr. Denver left to call Megan.
"He's ringing Megan. Hopefully, they're all together, and they've just gone somewhere, and they're safe. Maybe their phones went flat. Telephones can be Bad these days," Mrs. Denver said.
"I doubt they're all dead," said Ms Barrow.
Not long later, Mr. Denver returned to the room.
"I can't get in touch with her, her phone is going straight to voicemail" Mr Denver told his wife.
Miss Barrow's heart raced with fear and panic when she overheard this, realizing that something serious could be wrong.
"I think we should go and look for them. What beach were they on, it was a local one wasn't it?" Asked Mrs. Denver.
"As far as I know yes it was the local one also I'm going to go and have a look for them I've got a terrible feeling about this. Their phones are going straight to voicemail and it's not like the girls to not answer" said Miss Barrow.
"You're welcome to follow me if you like." "William, are you coming with me, the more people the better" mrs Denver asked.
"Yes, I'm also coming, are the other parents coming," questioned Mr. Denver, carrying his coat and taking his car keys off the side.
"Mary, are the others coming," Mrs. Denver asked.
"I don't know, but more than likely once I tell them what we're planning to do, It makes no sense why The girls haven't returned or for them not to answer their phones," said Miss Barrow.
"Maybe they have another friend, and they went home and fell asleep in their house, I hope they did," said Mr. Denver.
"Deidre, I'm going to get in the car now, and make my way to the beach," Mrs. Denver said as she hurried out the door mr Denver following close behind
The drive to the beach was filled with tense silence as they all worried about what could have happened to the girls. As they pulled up
to the entrance, they saw several police cars and emergency vehicles parked nearby.
Miss Barrow's heart raced as she realized that something terrible must have happened. She parked her car and ran towards the crowd of people gathered at the beach, hoping to catch a glimpse of her daughter or her friends.
But as she got closer, she saw a group of people huddled around The entrance of the cave that had collapsed in on itself.
"You don't think they entered the cave," Miss Barrow asked Mrs. Meadows with alarm.
"I doubt it they were only wearing T-shirts and shorts, So I don't think I doubt they went to explore the cave in T-shirts and shorts,'' explained Mrs. Meadows.
"This would explain why we couldn't reach them," said Miss Barrow, nearing the cave.
"Sarah!" Miss Barrow called out.
"Everyone please stay back, you could make the cave fall in more" One of the firefighters warned them.
"Do you know How many people are estimated in the cave," asked a fireman.
"We don't know, we just came here looking for our kids. They're teenagers, we're looking for four of them" Mr. Meadows told the fireman.
"Okay," the fireman said, getting his walkie-talkie out. "We are searching for at least four young adults, if not more. We also have four young adults, two women and two men, who are injured and in need of help," said the fireman into the walkie-talkie.
One at a time, more ambulances arrived.
The fire fighters began digging in the rocks at the base of the cave.
"How old are the four teens we are looking for and what gender?" The firefighter asked.
"All of them are eighteen years old and women," said Mrs. Meadows.
The Firefighters keep looking. A few minutes later, a firefighter is heard calling out.
"We found someone". They take out a man who appeared to be in his twenties, and he's swiftly taken away by the paramedics.
"Do any of the girls have phones on them that you can ring? If they ring, we may be able to find out where they are," the fireman told The parents.
"They have phones, but we don't know whether they're on them or if they're actually working," said Miss Barrow.
"Okay, let's try ringing them one at a time, please. Otherwise, there will be too much noise," explains the fireman.
After a few failed attempts, they finally heard a phone ringing from inside the cave. They quickly pinpointed the location and started digging in that area.
The fireman removed three more people, two Males and one woman.
Miss Barrow then phoned Sarah again, A faint sound was finally heard.
"I hear something in this spot," said Mrs. Denver.
The Firefighters moved to the side of the cave and began to dig under the rocks and dust.
All of a sudden, they see blonde hair that has been smothered in the dirt. They moved all the rocks, and they pulled out a female and brought her to the ambulance.
It's Sarah.
The sunflower blouse she was wearing is now stained with dust, dirt, and blood.
