A yawn escaped from my mouth as I enjoy the cushion of the chair,
I barely got any sleep last night after getting back to my dorm extremely late.
But that didn't stop me from getting to class early.
Soon students started to pour in as usual.
As I mindlessly peer through the glass window to pass the time.
I hear a familiar voice,
"Hey Xayah,"
I turn my head immediately.
A man with silver eyes was talking to the elven girl.
It was Wyatt.
No way?
Did the voices come back?
I was breathing abnormally as I watch from afar.
"What's up, Wyatt?"
"Look can I, uhmmmm, meet one of your bodyguards? The one who was wearing a metal mask?"
I let out a sigh of relief as I realize what Wyatt was trying to do.
Xayah tilted her head while she looked at Wyatt.
"What bodyguard?"
Wyatt on the other hand had a blank face,
"What?"
They stood there in silence, awkwardness was in the air.
I utter a small chuckle in my seat.
Soon a man got close to them,
He had blonde hair and blue eyes and touched Wyatt on the shoulder.
"Man, what kind of flirting was that,"
Wyatt looked at Kyle his cheeks were flushed red,
"No-no, I wasn't trying to flirt!"
"Sure, man, whatever you say," Kyle replied while having a huge grin on his face.
Wyatt let out a sigh while his hand was touching his forehead.
Xayah was slightly laughing as she watched.
A woman who had red hair soon entered the class.
"Alright, everyone sit down,"
Wyatt looked at Xayah one more time.
"I'm sorry for troubling you, forget what I said earlier,"
He apologized to the elven girl while he and Kyle returned to their seats.
Class started normally and boredom crept again into the back of my mind.
****
After class ended, Mark invited me out to hang with them at the arcade again, but this time I declined.
I have something I need to do.
If I'm not wrong today was the day the A-Class of the Knight and Mages, were supposed to finally meet the greatsword in chains at the cathedral.
As I arrive at the student lounge, I sat on one of the chairs, while resting the food I bought into the table.
While I wait, I try to think back to the novel.
[In the middle of a school, lay a church, dedicated to the God of Radiance, it stood tall among the buildings and at the very top a huge bell overlooked the entire academy, but for such a holy place, inside was a blasphemous sword held in shackles.
Millia watched the sword in chains from afar, her eyes would not break away no matter how much she tried.
The faint sound of a heartbeat could be heard, yet it did not belong to her nor to anyone besides the black-haired girl.
It was a cryptic pulse slowly getting louder in her head.
Countless sweat dripped down from her face, and her shaking hands could not be still.
As the instructors released the barrier around the sword, she immediately passed out on the ground, the pressure from the blade was too much for her.
As her mind drifted into slumber, a voice echoed within her mind.
Full of malice and evil.
It spoke two words.
"Wield me,"]
As I come back to reality I started thinking.
The academy was oblivious to the fact that beneath the auratium blade of the greatsword held in the cathedral, lay a demon.
It slumbered for years to relinquish its strength,
But soon it would finally wake up, and find a vessel.
Among the countless student that it met,
It didn't choose the strongest or the richest.
But the one closest to death.
It was none other than a black-haired shadowkind girl.
Millia Delanne,
She would then go inside the cathedral one night, normally the guards protecting the cathedral would deny her entrance.
But they were all knocked out by the sword, as the demon was now fully in control.
Inside her mind, Millia was screaming, yet her mouth would not move.
She was begging and pleading for someone to help her as she walked slowly to the greatsword.
But help would soon come in the form of a man.
With blonde hair and black eyes, Reynold would feel the horrifying aura the sword emitting.
As he arrived at the cathedral he would see Millia in a daze slowly approaching the cursed blade.
The sword would let out its true presence again.
In order to send Reynold to his knees,
But he stood tall, almost unaffected by it.
He would then walk up to the sword and touch its handle.
But instead of being corrupted a bright light shined inside the cathedral.
It came from Reynold, soon he and Millia would pass out.
The greatsword would shake and change.
No longer ominous and full of dread.
The demon inside was dead and Reynold would finally get the sword he has in the novel.
A sigh left my mouth.
But that is what they only thought.
I think back to the novel again,
[The bright blade in Reynold's hand shook as he faces the amalgamation, a faint chuckle could be heard, before he could process what was happening, veins of blood soon came out of his sword, It pierced through his skin, and into his mind.
"Re-REYNOLD!" Millia rushed to him as she saw what was happening.
Yet before she could reach him, she saw a blur, and her eyes widened.
The world was spinning around her and soon her vision went dark]
That f*cking author, without any build-up or any mention.
The demon inside the sword came back, it controlled Reynold and made him decapitate Millia.
So this time, I will make sure it stays dead, for good.
I then look back at the bench where Millia often sits.
I could see clearly, her hands were shaking.
My body tensed up,
Looks like it's time.
