Chapter 30 - Dusk (4)

[You have gained 600 EXP]

I should be feeling ecstatic seeing I gained so much experience in such a short time but all that could come out from me was a sigh.

I approached the lifeless corpse of the cougar,

As I check each and every one of her pockets.

Soon I got hold of a device, her wallet, a phone, and a key.

The device was rounded and on it were two buttons.

They were labeled.

- Kill

- Kill All

I think I know pretty sure what they mean,

But how do I release the collar?

I then looked below the device.

There was a symbol of their organization on it.

A Cerberus,

I then turned around and look at the slave.

Mellisa was gazing at me with complete fear in her eyes and her bodily fluids were flowing on the floor.

As I approach her, she closed her eyes.

Her body was trembling probably traumatized from the quick deaths that she witnessed in front of her.

I let out a sigh and soon inspected the metal collar around her neck.

On its side was a scanner,

I got the device nearer to it and after a moment.

*CLICK*

The metal collar fell to the ground.

Seeing her neck free from the heavy weight it got accustomed to in a long time she opened her eyes and with widened pupils looked at me absentmindedly.

I soon spoke,

"Are you okay?"

The girl couldn't respond and was still looking at me with complete shock on her face.

I let out a sigh,

"Hello?"

'Are-are you not here to kill me?"

The poor girl asked me with a shaking voice.

"What? No,"

"The-there are others trapped underneath,"

I already knew that from the novel but I still thanked her.

I then took my mask and dagger from my chest.

The girl was bewildered at the sight that appeared before her eyes.

As I donned the mask and was about to leave the room.

I look back at the girl.

"I have a favor,"

The young girl shudders once again, not expecting the sudden change in my voice.

"Never tell anyone about me,"

"Are we clear?"

She nodded her head vigorously.

"Good, and lock the door once I leave,"

I then got out of the room with a gun and a dagger in both of my hands.

I marched forth, my legs of mine uttered no sound.

The room we were in was located up top of the slave market.

I soon perched on a balcony overlooking the entire area.

The customers below were verbally insulting the slaves while some were outright beating them.

The 10 guards who were standing watch simply laughed and did nothing.

I checked the bullets left in my last magazine.

Only 4 were left,

I inwardly curse myself for my lack of preparation.

As I could've made a quick stop by a store to buy some supplies.

But I completely forgot about it,

Realizing this I have two choices.

I could call the civil corps by using the cougar's phone.

Or,

I could risk it.

But I know if I take the safer option, I won't be able to kill Wyatt.

I summoned my crows out of my shadow.

I gave the key I got from the corpse of the cougar to its beak, and ordered him to lock the door.

He then flew not a single soul heard the flapping of his wings, because of the music.

After telling me he was done, I ordered him to hide the key, and then I gazed at the guards.

5 of them were on the other side of the balcony, while the other 5 were below me.

I ordered all of my crows to stand ready.

I soon aimed my gun at a guard on the other side.

And pulled the trigger,

*BANG*

*SPLAT*

*THUMP*

All of the people below, stare at the guard who was now bleeding on the floor.

The entire slave market froze in time.

I quickly aimed my gun at the other guards.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

At the same time, I ordered Cotton to kill the 5th one that I couldn't kill because of the lack of bullets.

He swiftly swooped in and bit his neck with his beak,

All of them dropped like flies,

The entire area erupted in a myriad of screams.

All the customers quickly ran toward the exit

I then dropped down from the balcony towards the 5 guards below, who were still in a state of shock and fear unable to find the perpetrator.

The blade of my dagger pierced through the head of a guard.

As I fall on the ground cushioned by the body of the guard I killed.

I quickly noticed that the others were charging at me, their swords coated in an orange aura.

I hurriedly threw my gun to the side and took the sword from the guard's corpse.

As the sword was coated in blue, the guards halted their assault.

What hope does their F-ranked Aura have against mine?

I ordered Maggie and Mcfly to attack 2 of the guards whilst I charged at one,

The guard tried to block my strike,

*CLANG*

His sword was shattered in half and his body cut in two.

I then heard the sound of blood gushing,

2 of the guards beside him had their necks sliced.

Only one remains,

I look at the last guard,

He soon fell to the ground, his dark-shaded eyeglass was no longer on his face.

I could see the fear in his eyes as he looked at me.

"Spa-spare me please!"

"I'll never tell anyone! not a word would come out of my mouth, please just let me go,"

He was begging for his pitiful life, and soon I started speaking,

"How many?"

"Wha-what?"

"How many slaves have you r*ped, butchered, maimed, beaten, punched, kicked, ALL FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR DESIRE,"

My crows soon perched on my body, Maggie and Mcfly on my shoulder, and Cotton on my head.

"I-I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"

"I won't do it ever again, please spare me!."

Tears welled from his eyes as he continued begging,

It bought no mercy from me,

I then pointed my sword at him,

And soon I spoke,

"Devour him,"

I turned around unable to watch what was about to happen.

The sounds of a horrifying scream could be heard inside the market, the music can only do so much to drown the sound.

Then it stopped, next was the flesh ripping, then the bone breaking.

I then glace at the staircase from earlier, all of the customers were looking at me with terror.

My crows then soon perched on my body after finally being done with their lunch.

I steeled my resolve,

Not a single one of you will leave this place alive.
