Chapter 17 - Training Center

The next day came and the first thing I did was decide whether I would buy another sword or visit the blacksmith to repair the leather handle.

Even though I now have a decent sword aura, I am a complete newbie at handling swords, I have no idea how to swing it properly let alone any proper forms.

I would need to train, but thankfully in this world, there are training centers, which are literally an advanced type of gym.

Ultimately I chose the latter as fixing something is much cheaper than buying a new one.

After searching the map on my bracelet for nearby blacksmiths, I started walking.

It took no less than an hour to fix my sword as the handle was the only one broken, they even tried to convince me to replace the blade but I don't want to spend any more unnecessary bells.

This much is enough,

With that out of the way I hastily walked toward the training center,

As I reached the building guided by my map, I went in.

There were a lot of people inside, from the right I could hear the countless moans and grunts from the people diligently training.

They were swinging their swords and spears on the training dummies, while on the left there were people lifting weights.

The smell of sweat covered the entire building, yet it bothered no one as all of them were focused on their training.

I made my way to the front desk, and a masculine woman her eyes reflecting the light from the monitor in front of her.

She wore an all-black tight suit covering her entire body right up to her neck.

The tightness of her suit showed the entirety of her rigid muscles.

Her black hair was tied up in a ponytail that made her flawless face shine.

But finally, I managed to stay indifferent to it, after all, I have now adapted to the standards of beauty in this damned novel.

She then raised her head away from the screen and looked at me.

"Hello, are you new here?"

"Yes,"

"The membership fee starts at 2k bells,"

I transferred her the funds and my bells were now reduced to 33k.

"Payment received, are you here to train or work out?"

"I'm here to train,"

She then stood up from her seat and...

Damn those thighs,

I shook my head vigorously.

Focus up, Troi, you shall not be distracted from mere flesh, no don't do it, don't look at it, DAMN IT DONT, DOOOOOONT.

With sheer willpower, I managed to stop my desire to stare at it, thank god.

The muscled woman was now next to me and soon opened her mouth.

"On your right will be the training area, don't worry about hitting the dummies as hard as you can, they are designed to withstand blows up to B-Rank aura,"

"Thanks,"

As I was about to make my way toward it,

"And, next time, don't fight you're desires, you're free to look."

The black beauty suddenly said to me with a teasing grin.

Inside my mind, I was cursing myself.

I hastily walked towards the training area and shook off the embarrassment on my face.

After a bit, I finally reached it and took my sword out of my bracelet.

The training dummy in front of me was in medieval style, yet instead of wood, it was made from metal that showed no signs of rust or any beatings.

I soon swung my sword at it, and as it hit there was a clang.

The metal was unshaken.

This time I activated my skill, [Aura of the Wanderer].

The azure aura coated the steel blade of my sword.

Soon, I swung.

*CLANG*

The metal only bent, yet it was only for a split second as soon it repaired itself into prim condition.

I kept on swinging.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

Sweat accumulated on my face, but I paid no attention to it.

After swinging for what felt like an hour, I made my way to the nearby bench and sat to regain some of my strength.

Then I felt someone sit next to me.

It was a man, he had brown hair with an amazing physique, and on his hand rested a claymore.

"You're amazing man, to be gifted by a C-rank sword aura at a young age,"

Gifted? More like stolen.

"It's a shame, that you have no form,"

I know that, that is why I am here.

"I'm working on it," I say as I take deep breaths to relieve my exhausted body.

"Well, good luck," The man soon stood up and continued his training.

After resting for a minute more, I too got up and swung my sword.

A week passed by, and all I did for the entirety of it was sleep, eat, and train.

My body was starting to feel more light and my arms were beginning to strike heavy.

Occasionally I would go back to the mountain to hunt wolves to sell their hides for bells.

But most of the time I was inside the training center.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

After finishing a set of swings, I rested my beaten body back on the bench.

The same man sat beside me.

"I commend you, man, to train nonstop for a week,"

"Thanks,"

"Names, Bernard, by the way," He said to me while reaching his hand.

"Troi,"

"Oh?, it seems, I should call you a junior."

I looked at him with a confused face.

"You're from the academy aren't you?" The man's eyes were set on my bracelet.

"Yeah?"

"I'm a 2nd year in Class B, and as you're senior, it is my godsent duty to help my juniors," The man now had a grin on his face.

"Would you like me to help you train?"

"Is it for free?"

"Just buy me lunch once we meet in the academy,"

"Then, I shall wholeheartedly accept your offer,"

Bernard let out a small chuckle,

"Let's start then,"

"Wait, I haven't even re-"

Bernand soon dragged me out of the bench and into a training dummy.

"First!, you have no form, so I'll teach you the basics,"

"Stand tall, straighten you're spine and swing,"

*CLANG*

"Stop swinging with strength, what would happen if somehow, your enemy parried it? You'll fall back on your ass and your neck will be slashed, fix your form first,"

Under Bernard's guidance, I soon started training diligently.
