Ducked behind some debris griping his hilt of his knife extremely tightly was Adrian and Emely. Both had moved a bit from the basement into the ruins of their former village as they came upon their first monster.
The monster was a Hellhorse that was sleeping between the debris. Adrian knew that there where multiple ways to get stronger in this world: Training, fighting, killing monsters, doing quest for the gods and getting a blessing. Training was considered the safest method, but they did not have the luxury to use this method.
"Stay close to me." Adrian whispered to Emely before beginning to sneak up on the Hellhorse. That monster looked like a horse for the most part. It was bigger stronger and faster with horns showing its age on his head. Their last memorable feature was the fire on their legs.
Adrian only knew those facts and nothing else about the enemy on hand, so he chose to approach it sneakingly trying to kill it without a fight.
Reaching the Hellhorse he raised his knife above it's neck before using all his strength to stab it's neck. The knife penetrated the skin and cut through flesh and muscles. Cutting open one of the main artery. Adrian smiled thinking it was over let his guard down a little, only to get thrown against some rubble hurting him. Looking up he saw the Hellhorse getting up even though it was bleeding heavily. Emely was cowering behind some cover clutching her own knife to her body.
To her luck the Hellhorse didn't notice her as it was angry at it's attacker who was Adrian. Adrian on the other hand had no weapon anymore it was still in the neck of the Hellhorse. Gritting his teeth Adrian rolled to his side into cover. In response the Hellhorse used fire magic to attack his former spot and the area around it. Setting fire to the ruins.
Adrian was running around trying to find a way out of the situation for him and Emely when the wall he was running behind was hit with a attack shattering it throwing Adrian into the air. Once again he slammed into the ground and rolled on the ground, ripping open his skin on the rubble and stones. The air got punched out of him leaving him breathless trying to regain his breath and get back up. Blood was dripping down his arms on to the floor. His hair was slowly turning red as his blood colored it so. A few bleeding scratches in his face paired with the look of absolut will to survive in his eyes made him look wild like a cornered animal.
He looked at the Hellhorse and saw it got slower and was seemingly struggling to keep standing as blood was still flowing out of it's wound in mass. It saw that Adrian was also still alive and slowly standing up. Seeing that it let out a roar trying to charge him once again.
It was slower and not as saw on it's feet like it was before. But even with that Adrian knew he could not dodge it's attack. That was the moment Emely came out of her hiding spot to the left of the Hellhorse with her knife out and attacked it. Hammering her knife in it's side hurting it even more making it stagger and fall over dragging her with it.
They crashed on the ground sliding a bit. That was the last string the Hellhorse could take and it died. Emely on the other hand received scratches, bruises and her air got pushed out of her. Now both where laying on the ground smiling knowing that they won.
Adrian began to drag himself to Emely and laying himself right next to her smiling at her. "Thanks for the help. You did awesome there." He said with a bright smile while stroking her cheek. Emely smiled at him showing pure happiness on her face.
That was the moment they heard a voice in there Head. "Congratulations on killing a Hellhorse. You two have impressed us, the gods. So we want to give you something to help you a little. At least as much as we can at the moment." As the voice ended they heard a ping and saw a blue window in front of them.
[Blessing of the Gods received, "The Status"]
"What?" was all that came out of Adrians mouth as a reaction and a confused look from Emely. Both where now confused but also eager to know what this Blessing was.

Hope you like this chapter that is a few words shorter then the first chapter but also my first real fight scene I wrote. So I hope for some feedback on it and suggestions on how to make it better.
