Zed dug through the wall of the insect lair once again, bracing himself against the unbearable stench as he ventured out. In his hand, he gripped his only weapon, the Vampire Blade, subconsciously.
Thankfully, the air here was abundant, even richer in oxygen than he'd encountered before. It seemed these insects, massive as they were, needed plenty of oxygen to sustain their activities.
And they were swift, oh, so swift.
Zed remembered clearly the agility of their limbs as they tore open their prey, a flexibility unparalleled by any insect he'd encountered before. Referring to them as insects was merely a visual comparison. In reality, they were an entirely different kind of beast.
