As Ed was about to be dragged back into the Thorneye's lair, Zed lazily snapped his fingers, a wry grin on his face.
He started to limp towards Ed. Vivian attempted to reach out and stop him, but the glare Zed shot her way was enough to keep her away.
"I know what I'm doing," he said in cold.
His hand dipped into his pocket, emerging with a golden spore held delicately between his fingers. Zed whispered something under his breath before flinging the spore into the air with all his might.
The spore traced an elegant arc through the air before a golden figure materialized from it, her presence as abrupt as a lightning bolt.
She was even taller than Vivian by half a head, a cloak rustling with each subtle movement she made. A blink of blinding golden light followed, and before anyone could see what was happening, her slender, lethal claws had cut through the air, deftly avoiding the enveloping vines and targeting Ed's gun-wielding arm.
