Part 2 : Choco Goblin
Chocolate Covered Load
Jay's truck was a 2019 FR-8 Boot model that he kept in good condition, on the inside at least. These models of truck are known for being affordable and their long-term reliability which is why they are most commonly seen on the roads and companies frequently incorporate them into their fleets. It is the reason that Jay doesn't plan on parting with his beloved Boot any time soon.
"So, a buttload of guidelines I expect you to follow while livin' in ma truck," Jay begins as Andrew drags his stuff inside, "you can sleep on the bottom bunk just as long as you make sure you use the bathroom before falling asleep. Don't pee in ma bed like that one trainee did or I don't care where we are I'll boot yer ass out and leave yer ass."
"Nah, I'm potty trained. Don't worry." Andrew assures.
"Good. Now, the food that's on the top shelf in the fridge is mine, you can stuff yours on the bottom shelf. You can help yourself to the plastic ware I got laying around here somewhere, too. Oh ya, clean up after yourself and they won't have to clean you up off the side of the road when I kick yer ass out," Jay laughs and Andrew forces a chuckle.
"Oh, and one more thing," Jay turns around and stares down at Andrew with an intense glare, "don't ever, at all, not never, touch my stash of chocolate. You can help yourself to anything else but ma chocolate. If I catch you eatin' ma chocolate…don't let me catch you eatin ma chocolate."
Andrew nods nervously. Not that Andrew would have any intention of eating any of his food, it was the way Jay stared him down when he said it, as if the consequences for eating his chocolate were a thousand times worse than peeing in his bed. It made Andrew wonder what happened to the former trainee who ate his chocolate, and it gave him the heebie jeebies.
"Alright! Now that we know the rules, let's see what you can do behind the wheel. Knock yourself On Duty and let's get rollin."
"What about a pre-trip inspection?" Andrew asks.
"Pee trip-shmee trip, I did one earlier before picking you up. Right now, I just want to see how you drive to see if I'll be able to sleep."
Andrew and Jay's first load had them picking up from a small local business out of Flagstaff, Arizona called, Latte Lovers, a 7-hour drive from the company terminal. The load was then to be hauled back to Choco Goblin Distribution Center up in Ogden, Utah, which was a 9-hour drive from Flagstaff. Normally, Jay would be delivering to a business like Latte Lovers, but apparently there was some mysterious issue with the freight - which was coincidently, chocolate - and they decided to send it back, refusing to disclose the reason…
