Synopsis
Chu Yi had a flash marriage with a stranger. It was her grandmother's idea. However, she only saw him on the day they received their marriage certificate. She hadn't seen her for a year since then. One year later, Chu Yi found out that her CEO had just returned to the country. He seemed strangely familiar, but she couldn't recall where she'd met him. Everybody knew that Song Group's CEO, who never got close to any woman, was married. In fact, he was known to be someone who pampered his wife a great deal. Meanwhile, Chu Yi, who was the CEO's chief assistant, constantly complained about buying various gifts for her boss. Like other people. She was also envious of the CEO's wife who had never appeared in public. Her colleagues all felt jealous when they saw her running errands for the CEO. Suddenly, people began to talk in the office. "You can't get promoted by just being good at your job. You've got to be seductive too." "Mr. Song hates subordinates who have feelings for him. Don't ruin your own future." "Mr. Song is a married man. Know your place." To everyone's surprise, Chu Yi was the rumored Mrs. Song. "Of course, Chu Yi was just as surprised as everyone else. One day, when a cocktail party ended, a drunk Mr. Song whispered in her ear, "Honey~"

Chapter 1 - Flash Marriage

In the pantry, a boy suddenly stopped Chu Yi and confessed to her with red ears.

"I'm sorry, but I'm already married," Chu Yi said, raising her hand to reveal her ring and tactfully rejecting the boy in front of her.

The boy's face instantly turned red, but he was still unconvinced. "I don't believe it. We've been together for so long, and I've never seen your husband pick you up once."

"My husband is quite busy. He's either on a business trip or on his way there," Chu Yi replied, looking a little helpless.

"I don't believe you," the boy said confidently. "You must be lying to me."

Upon hearing this, Chu Yi found it funny. She said helplessly, "Do you want me to show you the marriage certificate?"

"Then he must have treated you badly," the boy said confidently.

Hearing this, the smile on Chu Yi's face faded a little. "Those things are known only to the people involved."

The boy also realized that he had said something wrong, but he did not know how to remedy it.

"Alright, you're still young. Don't keep thinking about love. Work hard." Chu Yi saw through his embarrassment and patiently reminded him like an elder.

The boy responded softly and then ran away quickly.

"Looks like someone's charm hasn't diminished." Someone came in with a teacup.

When Chu Yi saw who it was, she heaved a long sigh of relief. "Don't tease me, Yunyun."

Yan Yun shrugged and placed the cup under the coffee machine. "To be honest, if I hadn't seen your marriage certificate, as your best friend, I wouldn't have believed that you were married."

Chu Yi twirled the fake ring on her finger and looked helpless. "Yeah, I don't believe it either."

A year ago, Chu Yi got married to a man she had just met in order to fulfill her grandmother's wish.

Her grandmother had chosen her marriage partner, as he was the grandson of her grandmother's good friend, and he was reliable and of the right age.

Due to some bad experiences in the past, Chu Yi's grandma could never get over them and always felt guilty and blamed herself. Chu Yi didn't want her grandma to worry about her at her age, so she agreed to the marriage.

Her expectations for marriage had long disappeared when she was young, and she now just hoped for a peaceful life.

On the day of their marriage registration, she had only seen him once, and he was a good-looking man. However, that was all she knew about him.

"Hey, what are you thinking about?" Yan Yun nudged her.

Chu Yi regained her senses and rubbed her temples. "It's nothing. I just remembered something about my registration."

"Speaking of which, who exactly is your husband? Since you suddenly told me about your flash marriage a year ago, even I haven't seen him in person."

Chu Yi couldn't help but feel amused and helpless. "I don't know either."

Yan Yun was at a loss for words and choked up.

"You've been married for over a year, but you've only met your husband once when you registered your marriage. Your marriage is like not having one at all," Yan Yun commented.

Chu Yi nodded in agreement.

"Do you think he could be the leader of some mysterious organization, doing something unspeakable that prevents him from contacting you?" Yan Yun asked curiously.

Chu Yi thought for a while and stuttered, "I don't think so. It's unlikely."

"How could a normal person disappear after getting married? It can't be a scam, right?" Yan Yun scoffed.

Chu Yi firmly denied, "I don't believe that's the case."

This marriage partner was carefully chosen by her grandma, and Chu Yi still trusted her grandma's judgment.

"It's really too puzzling." Yan Yun supported her chin with her hand and thought for a moment before saying, "Speaking of which, have you heard about the CEO and his wife?"

"What? The CEO of our company?" Chu Yi had never seen the president of this company since she joined. It was said that he had been on a business trip abroad. This was the first time she had heard about the president.

Yan Yun quickly covered her mouth and looked around to make sure no one was paying attention before continuing, "I also heard it from others, but..."

She lowered her voice and whispered in Chu Yi's ear, "I can't guarantee it's true."

"Hurry up and tell me." Chu Yi couldn't help but feel curious when she saw Yan Yun's mysterious look.

Yan Yun pondered for a moment and said, "I heard that our CEO went abroad to work right after getting married. Then, some people guessed that he didn't just work this year. He probably took his newlywed wife on a honeymoon."

"Is it true?" Chu Yi was a little surprised. It seemed like the CEO was a good husband.

Yan Yun shrugged. "I'm not sure, but if it's true, our CEO's wife is really lucky."

She had heard that CEO Song, who went abroad for business a year ago, would be back in two days. Everyone in the president's office was so busy that they barely had time to rest. They arrived early and left late every day, trying to leave the best impression on the boss.

An intern who had just started working couldn't handle the pressure and broke down in the office.

"Can you do it or not? If you can't, get lost." Lin Zuo frowned and scolded.

"I can't do it. This isn't something anyone can do." The intern was also unyielding. "If you have the ability, fire me."

Lin Zuo laughed in anger. "Do you really think I don't dare?"

The intern sat on the chair, crossed his legs, and said casually, "If you have the ability, try it. Do you know who my father is? Do you dare to fire me? Be careful, or I'll make you regret it."

Lin Zuo pushed up his glasses and said in a cultured tone, "Anyone could do a better job than you with your position, yet you still have the audacity to speak here. If it weren't for your father's influence, you wouldn't even be able to enter our company."

He spoke calmly, but his words exerted an indescribable pressure.

The intern, who had been receiving the stares of those around him, couldn't hold it any longer and retorted loudly, "What nonsense are you talking about? Anyone can do this job. Don't be so full of yourself."

Lin Zuo was too annoyed to argue with him any longer. "That's enough. You're fired from now on. The finance department will transfer your salary for the next two days to your account."

The intern felt humiliated and muttered, "What's the big deal?" before leaving hastily.

Lin Zuo rubbed his forehead, feeling a little frustrated. The intern's job wasn't particularly difficult, but it was tedious and required someone who was meticulous to do it.

CEO Song was coming to the company in the afternoon, and Lin Zuo still couldn't find a suitable candidate for the job.

Chu Yi had been watching the entire commotion from the side, unsure of whether she should approach Lin Zuo, who seemed to be in a bad mood. She had only come to deliver a document and had stumbled upon the scene by chance.

As she hesitated, Lin Zuo raised his head and noticed Chu Yi not far away. His eyes lit up, as if he had found his savior.
