Chapter 29 - I Owe You

Qin Qing's words seemed to have an effect because Gu An's resistance lessened.

Gu An widened his eyes and tried hard to clearly see the person in front of him. The familiar outline made him slowly release his guard.

Gu An suppressed the severe pain and firmly grabbed Qin Qing's wrist.

His voice was still immature, but it was hoarse.

"I… We made an agreement. You can't...leave me behind."

Seeing his appearance, Qin Qing didn't say anything serious.

"Alright, I won't leave you behind. Don't move around anymore. I'll check your pulse."

Qin Qing gently put one hand on Gu An's pulse. Her eyebrows furrowed to a greater extent.

As it turned out, there was a hidden toxin in Gu An's body. Since it didn't show up before, Qin Qing didn't notice it when she first treated Gu An.

Gu An's current pulse was alarmingly chaotic. The toxin was deeply rooted. It should have been in Gu An's body for a long time. Currently, it developed the tendency to spread throughout Gu An's entire body.

Nevertheless, apart from the toxin in Gu An's body, there was also a drug that could counteract the former. Unfortunately, the drug could only suppress the toxin and not eradicate it.

Qin Qing also discovered a critical matter. Since the toxin was potent, the recovery of blood clots in the back of Gu An's brain was impaired.

She previously made a promise to help Gu An recover his memory.

It then became necessary for Qin Qing to perform acupuncture on Gu An every day to continuously stimulate vital points in his brain. This was considerably beneficial in restoring Gu An's memory.

But the prerequisite for all of these was to eliminate the blood clot in the back of Gu An's head.

This was the most essential factor in restoring memory.

With the recent development, it meant that Qin Qing needed to deal with the toxin in Gu An's body first before she could help him recover his memory.

The toxin in Gu An's body should at least be reduced. Otherwise, the blood clot at the back of his head would be difficult to treat.

Qin Qing only felt how exceptionally troublesome it was. The toxin was not easy to cure.

It was a toxin that was difficult to detoxify, even for Qin Qing. It would have been good if she discovered it from the onset. But the toxin had already lived in Gu An's body for too many years.

"Kid, I must have really owed you in my previous life!"

Qin Qing discreetly cursed and temporarily set aside her thoughts. Right now, the toxin in Gu An's body must be controlled first.

"Okay, I'm going to perform acupuncture on you now."

Qin Qing took out a silver needle. Gu An secretly saw the faintly glowing instrument and subconsciously wanted to escape.

But after looking at Qin Qing's serious expression, Gu An forcibly held back.

Gu An could no longer tell if it was pain or fear, but his shoulders continued to uncontrollably tremble.

Qin Qing inaudibly sighed. She then spoke with a rare gentle voice.

"Kid, trust me."

The girl's short sentence was inexplicably convincing. As though imbued with magic, it made people feel at ease.

Although it was difficult to stop the tremors, a part of Gu An's heart calmed down.

After two full hours, Qin Qing finally finished the treatment, and the hair on her forehead was slightly moist.

Gu An also obviously felt the pain dissipate, but the red scar on his body did not disappear. Gu An couldn't help but touch his face.

As soon as it made contact, Gu An felt something rough and rotten. He could even picture how disgusting his appearance was at the moment.

Gu An couldn't help but turn his back to Qin Qing. He opened his mouth and spoke.

"I want to look in the mirror."

After a moment of silence, Qin Qing responded.

"Kid, I have helped you suppress the pain. After three days of acupuncture and moxibustion, it will disappear with the Chinese medicine I have prescribed."

Gu An also paused for a moment before replying. "Will it be completely gone or is it just temporary?"
