Chapter 22 - Suspicion

Qin Ruo looked up at Qin Qing, then cast a sideway glance at Ji Lu, with a look of fright.

Ji Lu directly pulled Qin Ruo behind him.

"What are you doing? You follow us here and pretend to be clueless. Back then, you randomly performed acupuncture on Ruo'er, so she ended up like this."

Qin Qing couldn't help but laugh when she heard this.

"Master Ji, stop kidding. When did I become so proficient in medicine that I can poison someone with just two needles?"

Qin Qing pointed out, "Even if I have committed bad deeds in the past, you shouldn't blame me for such a ridiculous thing. Don't deny it. Who will believe you? Haven't you always treated me like trash?"

Qin Qing glanced around, and the people present couldn't help but start talking.

"That's true. How could Qin Qing use acupuncture to poison Qin Ruo? There are very few Chinese medicine practitioners who know acupuncture."

"It's really unbelievable. Even the well-known Chinese medicine practitioners in Jiangcheng don't necessarily know acupuncture."

Hearing the words around him, Ji Lu felt a little shaken. He himself found the matter extraordinarily absurd.

But Ji Lu truly witnessed it with his own eyes.

"You should not deceive people with lies. Wh-who knows if your incompetent acupuncture skills actually caused the problem?"

As he spoke, Ji Lu was also persuaded by his own reasons and became increasingly confident.

Compared to Qin Qing's conclusion, this reason was indeed more trustworthy.

But Qin Qing steadily responded.

"Are you saying I 'accidentally' cured Qin Ruo with silver needles and 'accidentally' poisoned her at the same time? Master Ji, don't you think this coincidence is a bit exaggerated?"

Qin Qing continued, "With this logic, then regardless of who it is, two needles alone can coincidentally bring people back to life or drag them into hell."

Ji Lu wanted to refute it, but he didn't know how to.

That was indeed a bit over the top.

"That is..."

Ji Lu didn't know what to say for a long time.

Qin Qing kindly spoke for Ji Lu.

"Why don't I answer for Master Ji? There is only one reason for this contradiction."

Qin Qing looked at Qin Ruo behind Ji Lu.

Qin Ruo somehow had a bad premonition in her heart.

Sure enough, in the next second, Qin Qing directly pointed her finger at Qin Ruo.

Qin Qing leisurely spoke.

"The only possible explanation is that Qin Ruo was never poisoned in the first place. She just pretended to be unconscious."

Qin Ruo was suddenly agitated.

"You're talking nonsense!"

At the end of her sentence, Qin Ruo realized that she had overreacted. She hurriedly lowered her tone.

"Sister, how could you slander me like this?"

There was a meaningful smile on the corner of Qin Qing's mouth. "Why don't you give me a more plausible explanation then? Will you still insist that I used silver needles to simultaneously save and harm people by coincidence? I didn't know I have such good luck."

Qin Ruo was left speechless by Qin Qing. She glanced at the doubtful glances directed at her. She couldn't help but feel alarmed in her heart.

Even Ji Lu, who was beside Qin Ruo, couldn't prevent the hint of suspicion on his face.

Qin Ruo immediately shed tears, and she accused Ji Lu with aggrieved eyes.

"Even you don't believe me, do you?"

Ji Lu quickly retorted.

"No. How could I not believe you? I will always be by your side!"

Qin Ruo brushed away Ji Lu's hand. "You don't have to say these nice words to comfort me."

Qin Ruo glanced at the people around her. "I'm sorry to disturb everyone's rest time. I'm leaving now."

However, Qin Ruo unexpectedly fell to the ground before taking two steps.
