Chapter 3 - The Hunter and the Prey

Isaac and his companions had been wandering through the city for hours, searching for any clues that might help them break the time loop. They had split up into pairs, each group covering a different part of the city.

Isaac was with Lily, a girl he had met the day before. She was quiet and reserved, but she had a sharp mind and a keen eye. As they walked down a narrow alley, Isaac suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Did you hear that?" he whispered, his hand instinctively going to the hilt of his sword.

Lily nodded, her eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger. They both knew that this world was full of threats, and they had to be careful.

They heard the sound again, a soft rustling in the shadows. Isaac took a step forward, ready to confront whatever lay ahead. But then a figure emerged from the darkness, and he froze.

It was a woman, tall and slender, with dark hair and piercing eyes. She was dressed in a tight leather suit, and she held a bow in her hand.

Isaac recognized her immediately. She was one of the hunters, the elite group of warriors who roamed the city, hunting down monsters and other dangerous creatures.

The hunter regarded Isaac and Lily with suspicion, her bow still at the ready.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice cold and hard.

"We're just passing through," Isaac replied, trying to sound casual. "We're looking for a way out of this place."

The hunter narrowed her eyes, sizing them up. "You don't belong here," she said finally. "But if you're not here to cause trouble, then I'll let you go."

With that, she vanished back into the shadows, leaving Isaac and Lily alone in the alley.

"That was close," Lily said, exhaling deeply. "We should get out of here before we run into more trouble."

Isaac nodded, still shaken by the encounter. He knew that the hunters were powerful and dangerous, and he didn't want to make an enemy of them.

As they walked away, Isaac couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, like prey being stalked by a hunter. He knew that they had to be careful, because in this world, the line between hunter and prey was often blurred.
