After we left Leo's mother's house that day, Ava beckoned me over privately in her
room. I thought we were making progress into mending our relationship; that's if
we ever had one to begin with; but what happened next was what I was not
expecting.
I had to make a call to the hospital before I went to the room, so she had to wait a
while. Ryan left saying he had a date and he'll visit the next day, so it was just me, Ava
and Jax.
I went to the room but as I was about to push the door open that was slightly ajar, I
heard her talking to someone. I figured she was on the phone, but I heard another voice
as well shortly after. I felt bad for eavesdropping but it just felt like I had to so I could get
some clarity.
“...then again, I'm surprised she allowed me to keep Leo's remains. I'm glad...” I heard
her continue to say.
“I hope we—or rather you can at least find a way to cope and move on.” Jax replied.
