Third-person perspective
(The Park Mansion)
Han-byul continued to consider alternative solutions for Min-young, but she is still deliberating.
It's not something I should get involved in. After all, it is Min's feelings that I must respect.
"Does the food have a bad taste, Byul?" Park Grace, Byul, and Min's mother inquired, concerned. They are enjoying dinner together at their large dining table. Min also gave her a look because she hadn't touched her food in a long time.
"Nothing, mamma; I'm just not hungry." And nothing is wrong with your cooking; it's great." Mrs. Park smiled and lovingly brushed Byul's hair, trusting her arguments. Min, on the other hand, isn't convinced. She is well acquainted with her elder sister and wishes to learn what is hurting her.
They are interrupted by the great wooden entrance of the mansion opening, revealing Park Hikaru, Byul, and Min's father. Byul stood up and bowed before walking towards her father and kissing him on the cheek, who lovingly reciprocated. The men in black suits in the dining hall also bowed to their master. When Mr. Park carried his suitcase down, the men vanished as if they had never been there. They return to watch the house from outside.
"Dad!" Min approached her father and hugged him tightly. "What was it that took you so long?" You nearly missed dinner!" Min pouted, which made Mr. Park grin because his younger daughter is so adorable. Nothing beats that pout.
Mr. Park patted his daughter's head as he released her grip on his waist. "Please accept my apologies; I've been very busy with work, dear." They sat at the table and ate their dinner. They laughed and talked the entire evening at the dining table until Min went upstairs to her bed. Byul trailed behind her.
"What are you doing standing there?" Come on over to my bed." Min stroked the side of her bed. Byul moved up to Min's bed, and they hugged. They do it the majority of the time because it is how they find comfort in one another.
"Noona, do you think I have a chance with Seo-jun?" Min looked up to see how Noona reacted.
"Why would you even ask?" If I weren't a lady, I'd definitely date you." Byul beeped at Min's lovely nose as she drew closer.
"But, yes, we are sisters!" We are biologically related, but we are sisters in heart and soul! So what I was saying was that if we weren't sisters or if I were a boy, I would have dated you a long time ago. But I'm just saying that because it's true. Seo-jun is fortunate to have you." Min grinned in response to her noona's comments. She is fortunate to have Byul by her side. Min could not have asked for a better elder sister.
"I'm in love with you, Byul Noona." Min muttered, becoming asleep in the hug of the latter.
"And I love you too, Min."
...
(University)
The next day, Min and Byul are going through the corridors when they are hailed with a pleasant tone by a tall male with a masculine figure and dimples on his cheeks.
"Hello, Minyoung-ssi, and..." The male then turned to face the person standing next to Min.
"... Han-byul-ssi."
Byul raised her brows as Min bowed. With a pout, she greeted Choi Eun. The man is her greatest adversary, more like a rival.
"What's up with that expression on a Friday morning?" "Relax, dude, haha." He chuckled, displaying his dimples even more.
Choi Eun is the Business Club's president. The principal's favourite club because of its commitment to the school organisation and outstanding projects in business domains Only the Marketing club was favoured in the second round.
It wasn't Byul's fault, and she never failed as president, but Eun is to blame. He always steals the marketing clubs' proposal ideas and then pretends it was their idea first!
Byul doesn't know how Eun does it, but every time their club has an idea for a proposal, the business club steals it. The next thing they know, the principle has already approved their plans, but they have been credited to the business club!
''Look, if you're here to steal something from my club, you're out for the day." We can't think of anything because of you and your filthy tricks." Byul crossed his arms and spat venomously. Eun laughed and shook his head.
"I've told you numerous times... I'm not stealing your ideas; it simply so happens that we had the same thoughts at the same moment, with the only difference being that I am faster than you."
"Do you think I'd believe that ever?" Maybe you're correct, and maybe I'm simply hallucinating, but oh! I immediately remembered that six times we discussed the same proposals for the same projects. Is it a coincidence?" Byul moved forward, her gaze fixed on Eun's ears. "Or is it simply suspicious?"
She stepped back just enough to meet Eun's gaze. She looks at him and then returns to Min's side. Byul was enraged every time she saw the man's face. Every time she saw him, all she could think of was the missed proposals. Because it was their ideas, they should have gotten the credit.
One of their best ideas was to create a Letter Love Box corner around Valentine's Day, which was credited to the business club rather than them, along with their many other initiatives.
They don't know who stole it, so they become more careful, and Byul now only confides in Min because she is the only person she trusts. But Byul is grateful that their project of playing a song for the pupils on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays was kept.
After all, that is all they have.
Min became aware of the tension between the two and sought to intervene. But before he could say anything, he was interrupted by a voice behind his back.
''Eun, what exactly are you doing?" Min's breath almost came to a halt as she realised who the owner of the voice was. That deep and unpleasant tone in your voice. She can't possibly be mistaken.
"I'm not doing anything, Seo-jun; I'm just wishing a friend a good morning." Eun looks at Byul, but the latter does not reciprocate. Seo-jun shook his head and approached Eun.
"You're irritating her yet again." Seo-jun murmured.
Min is flushed, her face is hot, and her palms are sweating. It took so long for her to get this close to Seo-jun, even though they are still two metres apart. She steals a glance but is met with his gaze, which causes her to look away quickly, trying to hide the blush on her face.
"Hey, are you okay?" "Your face is very red. Are you sick?"
"N-No... "I just feel h-hot... the sun rays."Min hated herself mentally for stuttering.
And what about the sun's rays? Really Park Min-young? For Pete's sake, we're inside a building, and it's almost winter vacation! Congratulations. He now thinks you're a moron.
Seo-jun just replied with an 'Oh,' thinking that the latter was sensitive to shifting weather conditions, causing her body to react differently.
Byul frowned, clearly disappointed by Min's remark. She doesn't want to interfere with the younger's feelings, but she would at least try to interfere with her foolishness and assist her in climbing out of it. Even though she dislikes Seo-jun since he is a member of the business club, she would approach him for Min.
"Annyeong Seo-jun-ssi." Byul pretended to smile at Jun. Eun was caught off guard by the abrupt shift in attitude. Byul gripped Min's shoulders and drew her close, her arm resting on the younger's shoulder.
"It's good to see you again. If you've forgotten, my name is Park Han-byul, and this is Park Min-young, my younger sister." Min's pupils dilated.
"As you can see, we are from the marketing club, and I was wondering if you could recommend a song for our Monday song next week?" You know, because you're famous, the girls would love to know what music is on your playlist. Isn't that a brilliant idea?" Byul recommended it with her phoney but not too obvious smile.
"I think it's not a bad idea." Jun responded, still perplexed by the unexpected inquiry.
"Oh, and before I forget, Min will be the one introducing your song choice, so you should discuss it with her." Byul nudged Min in front, causing the shorter woman to stumble but quickly regain her equilibrium. He looked up only to look down again, fearful of meeting Jun's stare. She was in front of the brown-haired boy by now, practically isoshaking.
"Are you the one I always hear from the school intercom?" Jun inquired, and Min slowly raised her head to indicate a shy yes. She wasn't aware of her own voice before, but she is now! What if Jun hates her voice, or if it's too gruff at times?
"I've always liked the sound of your voice. I've often wondered who is speaking through the intercom because your voice is really calming to listen to. And there's something special about the way you say the words. It's as if you're creating feelings with your voice, which is incredible."
Min's pupils dilated, and her heartbeats became erratic. It didn't get any better because when she looked up, she was faced with Jun's gummy smile, which obstructed her thinking. Min's heart is racing, she is overjoyed, and she is about to burst.
"T-Thank you."
"Here is Min's phone number." Byul approached Min from behind and handed Jun a letter with the youngster's phone number written on it. Min felt ashamed, and she was sending signals to Byul, trying to figure out what the hell she was doing!
With a delighted smile, Byul winked at Min and handed Jun the number on a piece of paper.
"Text her about the song you wanted to play for Monday, and she'll make an introduction about it." Jun took it with a smile. Not giving too much thought to the intention behind that small note.
"Jeon Dae-hyun!" Eun shouted out, and the lad from earlier began to wave goodbye to the girls who had encircled him. He grinned at Eun and followed him.
"I'm sorry, Hyung; they weren't going to let me off the hook easily." I didn't realise I was taking so long." Dae-hyun fiddled with his fingers as he gazed down.
Eun giggled at the younger's cuteness; he's not furious at all.
"It's not your fault you're so popular, Dae-hyun, and why do you still appear shy whenever you're around them?" That's strange, lol; you should be used to it by now." He ruffled the youngster's hair.
They soon vanished and walked into their respective courses. Eun said goodbye, but only Min responded.
"Noona, could you please remind me where your manners are again?" As a response, Byul scoffed and rolled her eyes. She despises those three business club members.
