Leah took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. This man was really getting on her nerves, but she didn't want to lose her temper.
"Look, Mister...." She started but was interrupted.
"It's Lucius." Lucius said curtly.
"Okay, Lucius," she said through gritted teeth. "I'm really not this patient, but I am trying to be nice. However, you seem to be pushing my buttons."
Lucius shrugged, a smug grin adorning his handsome face. "I'm just stating the truth, sweetheart," he said, staring at her green eyes. "You sounded sarcastic rather than grateful."
"I already thanked you before but you seem to have some issues with your memory. And I won't stand you calling me ungrateful when I just thanked you for your help."
Lucius stared at her, his expression unreadable. "Fair enough," he said. "But I have to admit, you're a bit of a hot-head, sweetheart."
Leah bristled, her fists clenching at her sides. "I am not a hot-head," she spat."
Lucius chuckled. "Well, that's certainly one way to put it," he said, moving closer to her. "But maybe you should learn to be more grateful."
Leah opened her mouth to retort, but then she paused. Maybe this man had a point. Maybe she was too quick to judge him and too impatient with his shortcomings.
Leah sighed tiredly, but then she nodded. Maybe Lucius wasn't such a bad guy after all.
Leah had to crane her neck up to look at his face due to their height difference. "Okay, fine," she said, her anger dissipating.
"Thank you for helping me last night. I didn't mean to be so rude before," she sighed, folding her hands again. "In fact I'm not usually that rude, I just had a rough night, my head hurts like hell and I just need to head home, shower and...." Leah paused when she noticed that Lucius eyes was no longer on her face, instead he was looking downwards. She followed his line of sight and realized that he was actually staring at her boobs.
Leah's eyes flashed with anger. "What the hell are you looking at?" she asked, dragging his attention back to her face, while glaring at him.
"I'm just wondering why you keep pushing out your boobs like that. Is it a habit... something you subconsciously do or are you doing it on purpose." Lucius asked, tilting his head with an amused expression on his face.
"What?" Leah asked confused, her hands coming up to cover her breast reflectively.
Lucius chuckled, lightly. "I mean, that was the third time you pushed out boobs and I feel like you're doing it on purpose, sweetheart."
Leah felt a shill run down her spine. Now that she actually thought about it, she realized that she was in a room alone with a creepy stranger. Even though he had helped her that didn't mean she could trust him. And he was actually a pervert, a creepy one at that
"I think I should leave." Leah said, taking a few precautionary steps back to make some distance between them.
"Why the rush?" Lucius asked.
"I need to report to my boss." Leah replied, looking at the door.
"You don't need to worry about her, sweetheart. I'm sure Maria is probably naked and passed out on a bed in one of the rooms here as we speak." Lucius said amused by what he had just said.
Leah's eyes snapped back to look at him. "What?" She asked her eye widening, obviously shocked by what he just said.
"You heard me or would you like me to repeat myself." Lucius asked her.
Leah had no intention in hearing what he had just said about Maria again. She just wanted to leave this place with this man who was scaring the hell out of her.
"No," Leah replied instantly.
"You know," Lucius said, taking a step closer and then another while she moved backward trying to make some space between them. "I find you really interesting and I just want to..." His words were cut cut by the knock on the door.
Lucius frowned wondering why that person couldn't just give him five minutes before interrupting his conversation. Even though he knew who was at the door, it did not stop him from getting annoyed at the person.
Lucius sighed before moving away from Leah and went to sit on a couch, crossing his legs.
Lucius reached into his pocket and pulled out his cigarette pack, tapping it twice before withdrawing a single stick. He flicked his lighter and brought the flame to the end of the cigarette, inhaling deeply as the tobacco ignited before turning to face the door.
"Come in. The door is open, Alexander." Lucius said to the person at the door.
Alexander opened the door and stepped inside, his eyes immediately drawn to Leah who looked like she wanted to crawl Lucius eyes out with her nails. He couldn't help but wonder what she was doing here.
Was she the reason why Lucius had killed that man last night or was she just his snack, he thought to himself. His lips curved up into a smirk as he thought about the second scenario.
Leah felt someone's gaze on her and she turned towards the door and caught the blonde man who had just walked in staring at her intently with a smirk on his face. Her eyes widen at him for a brief moment before she returned a glare at him for staring at her stupidly.
Her mind was consumed with thoughts about why his aura was giving her the same spine-tingling sensation that Lucius's did, unable to come up with a satisfactory answer, she rolled her eyes.
'Creeps' she thought to herself.
"How was your night." Lucius asked drawing Alexander's attention to him. Leah glared at the both of them before scurrying away and slamming the door behind her as she left.
"Exhausting and thrilling," Alexander walked over to another couch and sat down, he covered his eyes with the back of his right hand while unbuttoning the first three buttons of his shirt with his other hand. "Maria has a way of draining up a man's strength."
"And I wonder who she got that from." Lucius said, dragging more smoke into his lungs.
Alexander smirked at Lucius words. "What were you up to last night?" Alexander asked, removing his hand from his face so he could look at Lucius.
"Nothing," Lucius replied tersely.
"Really. Well that's a shame considering what you just had in front of you." Alexander said, amusement and mockery evident in his voice.
Lucius puffed more smoke from his mouth, his expression remained calm and unfazed even after what Alexander had just said.
"Have you made the arrangements for our little journey?" Lucius asked
"I have... Everything is set." Alexander replied, his expression turning serious.
"Good. Did you find anything about the woman that just left here?" Lucius asked in a calm yet serious tone.
"I did. Maria had already done a background check on her and she was very willing to share her findings with me," he paused for a brief moment before continuing.
"Name; Leah Morris, Age; twenty two. It turns that Leah had a twin sister. They were born to Mr and Mrs Thompson who died in a fire when they were six years old. They were then adopted by their aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs Morris, who raised them with their own daughter till they were sixteen. Unfortunately, the entire family were involved in a tragic accident. The car flew into a lake due to a brake failure and they drowned to death. Leah was the only survivor and she has no known living relative."
Lucius listened intently, his expression still calm.
"As for her education; She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied business management and graduated with honors." Alexander paused before continuing. "But after conducting further investigation, I discovered something interesting. The police never found Leah's cousin body but they still declared her dead anyway."
"Leah has no criminal records. Her file is sleek clean. And she's also single." Alexander added, a mischievous smirk appearing on his face.
Alexander could not help but be curious about why Lucius wanted to know more about this woman. Was it just to feed his mere curiosity or was he seriously interested in her?__Alexander thought to himself while trying to gauge Lucius expression with his eyes. The thought of Lucius being interested in this woman was all just too strange for him to accept or even understand no matter how hard he tired.
"Is that all?" Lucius voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"No," Alexander replied, his expression turning grave. One could tell that whatever he was about to say would be very delicate. "I also found something else,"
