Chapter 1 - Prologue

Long ago, the world was divided into two realms: the demon world and the human world. For centuries, the two worlds remained unaware of each other's existence. In the demon world, creatures wielded extraordinary powers, while in the human world, people lived ordinary lives—except for a hidden group known as the Nimo. These special humans possessed powers inherited from demons, although they concealed their abilities from the rest of the world.

Eventually, the demon lord learned of the human world. Intrigued by them, he sent 15,000 demons to infiltrate the human realm. Among them was his own son, Lucian. The demons scattered across the human world, blending into society by studying human behaviors and disguising themselves to look human. For long time, they remained undetected.

After 150 years, the world leaders discovered the existence of the demons. Panic spread quickly. Some demons had killed humans for sport although some chose to live peacefully. In response, humans began hunting demons, and a violent conflict erupted. The demons, now seen as a threat, armed themselves in defense. Despite their efforts, the human armies were relentless.

After the Great Demonic War which lead to the loss of over 2,500,000 million human lives and the death of 5,000 demons. Over 7,000 demons returned to the demon world to report what they had learned about humanity 3,000 demons, including Lucian, remained in hiding in the human world. The demons who stayed adapted to their new environment, hiding their identities while trying to survive.

Among humanity's secret group of Nimo was a young woman named Jia. Jia, however, was unaware of her powers or her connection to the demons. A long-forgotten curse had bound the Nimo bloodline: the powers of a Nimo could only be fully awakened by a female descendant. If a male child inherited the power, he could not use it, though he could pass it on to his children. Jia's father had unknowingly transferred his powers to her. For Jia to unlock her abilities, she needed to perform a special ritual.

At the age of 24, Jia lived an ordinary life, working at a renowned tech company called LIN, unaware of her lineage or destiny. She was the only girl in her family, with no aunts or female relatives on either her paternal or maternal side. She lived alone in a comfortable home, enjoying her job at LIN's headquarters, a prestigious company known for its global influence.

While some demons returned to their world, those who remained in hiding started living new lives in the human world. Over time, they adapted, and even thrived. Some of these demons became extremely wealthy, well known individuals, owing successful and powerful companies—including LIN, the very company where Jia worked. However, they kept their true identities a secret to avoid persecution.

Meanwhile, the human government, wary of demons, established an organization called the Demon Eradication Agency (DEA). The DEA's sole purpose was to eliminate demons. They developed advanced weapons capable of injuring or killing demons—far more powerful than ordinary weapons, which had little effect. Some of these new tools could even detect demons nearby, making it harder for them to remain hidden or so they thought.

For over 130 years, the war between humans and demons continued beneath the surface. Humans hunted demons in secret, while demons who had integrated into society continued to live in fear of discovery. In the midst of this fragile balance stood Jia—a young woman unaware of her destiny as a Nimo and her role in the ongoing conflict.

As the forces of the DEA closed in on hidden demons, and whispers of unrest spread, Jia's life was about to change forever. Her dormant powers, her connection to the demons, and the truth about her ancestry would soon awaken, plunging her into a world of secrets, battles, and choices that would determine the fate of both humans and demons alike.
