Chereads / Bitter Blood Tears / Chapter 14 - 014

Chapter 14 - 014

Back in the devil realm, Little Plum tucked Tangyu Sanjun into bed. She was lost in her thought. Since the God of the World said Tangyu Sanjun was capable of emotions, then he must be capable of crying. As long as he sheds a single tear, it will count. She just has to figure out to reach him and open his heart.

When people care for the things in their life, they will no doubt feel pain when it no longer exists. But in order to care for something, one must first grow attached to it.

For celestials, attachment comes at a price. All celestials cultivate hard to overcome their feelings of attachment. Mortals and demons on the cultivation path also seek to curb their attachment to the world. This is how they can attain immortality.

Those mortals and demons who fail to overcome their desires will fall into the devil's path. Just like her, her attachment to father emperor, mother empress and royal brother is what held her back from entering the celestial realm as an immortal.

It's easier said then done. To cut off all attachment is to become exactly like Tangyu Sanjun, devoid of emotions.

If she made Tangyu Sanjun cry, isn't that the same as cutting off his immortality?

Would that be a sin that would stain her soul?

Even if it did, she was willing to bear the consequences. Otherwise, the other result would be the extermination of the devil world.

The thing she had to work hard on right now was on how to open Tangyu Sanjun's heart. What would a child grow attached to?

Toys? Food? A pet? Parents? Family?

Ever since he came, Tangyu Sanjun did not make a fuss nor begged for his parents. He asked to be released and for word to be sent home, but there were no feelings in his actions.

Any captured person would want to find a way to free themselves from captivity.

It's no good. She spent an entire night brainstorming and there was no result.

Little Plum sleepily went to the kitchen to fetch Tangyu Sanjun's morning meal. As she stepped into the kitchen, she met with Black Crow.

Black Crow pulled her aside and in a hush tone said, "I heard you got into trouble with the princess yesterday."

"It's because of my own stupidity," Little Plum admitted. For someone like Black Crow who was loyal to the devil royal family, she had better not show any dissatisfaction with her younger self.

"Don't worry, we all applaud you. The little princess is arrogant, pretentious and unruly. She's just a common weed lucky enough to have caught the eye of our devil emperor. Everyone here has long disliked her. Your deed yesterday of standing up to that pompous princess has made you a hero in the eyes of all the servants."

Suddenly, Little Plum didn't know if she should smile or frown. Is this how everyone in the devil really sees me? I thought I was well respected by all of them. Instead, they all feel I'm not worthy of my status. Have they been laughing at me all this time?
