Chapter 4 - Chapter four

At home after school, I told my mum Pamela had invited me over to hangout with her friends. I lied to her that Pamela and I began talking after we met in class, and we decided to do our homework together.

But the truth was that we needed a private place to figure out how we were going to deal with the mess we got into. The one that involved the murder.

Both our mums were at home, so we didn't want to do the talking anywhere around the house. And texting on the phone would just leave evidence of the night.

So we decided to do it where no one would be interested in listening to our conversation. Her friend's place. Another stupid mistake we made.

The part that involved me studying with Pamela was what my mum liked. Then when I added that we would be doing the studying at one of Pamela's friends place, my mum immediately objected.

Honestly, I was glad she did. I didn't think I had it in me to be surrounded by Pamela's cool friends.

I told Pamela about my mum's refusal. I lied to her that I had tried convincing my mum countless times but mum said no. In return, Pamela told me to leave it to her and the next thing I know, she was in front of my house.

It didn't take Pamela five minutes, a couple of expensive praise about how smart I was and how she really needed me if she was going to pass an upcoming test.

My mum agreed only after making me promise I would be back before nine PM. This was the same woman that I couldn't convince that I was dying if I was truly dying. She allowed herself to be won over by a girl next door.

Well, after the permission was given Pamela and I went to my room. I had done thorough job in putting the place in order. If you seen and compare it from the room looked like before I arranged it, you'd have given me a big round of applause. It looked like a proper decent room, trust me. It took me two hours of sorting things out.

On my mum's directives, we left the door open for the short time I used in packing up my disguise studying material.

By six, Pamela and I left for her friend's place. When we got there, I met all her friends. Practically all the cool kids in class.

This was me thinking that It would only be two or three of girls. Maybe a additional boy to loosen the tension. My tension.

And the way they were all staring at me, I figured it was me they had all come to see. Including Jackson. Yes. He was there. And the only thing he did was sneer at me all night.

Honestly, I actually felt proud of myself. In my head, I told him, you snooze you lose.

If you had guessed that nothing like studying happened that night, yes you are right.

If you also guessed that Pamela and I didn't discuss anything remotely close to solving our problem with that night, then unfortunately for me, you are also right.

What we actually did the whole evening was have fun. Firstly, Pamela introduced me to them like I didn't already know them.

Okay, maybe I knew them. But they didn't know me.

" Where did you get him from?," Jackson interrupted Pamela as she introduced me, " A lab in Russia?, " he threw a jibe at me, making some of the other guys giggle.

I didn't see what was funny I what he had said. If I did, maybe I would have laughed too. Someone else also didn't find it funny. And Pamela made him know it.

" No," she frowned at him, " As a matter of fact, he found me. When I was busy crying because of your stupidity. " she retorted.

Jackson went briefly silent. When he recovered, he said, " Look, Pam. I told you it was mistake. I am sor..."

" Oh for God's sake, please save it." Pamela dismissed him with a quick wave of her hand. ":No one wants to hear you whine like a baby."

After that, Jackson didn't try say anything stupid.

We all spent the whole evening playing truth or dare. While I prayed the bottle didn't roll to my direction.

Most of the boys there were boyfriends to the girls. Lilian, the girl who was hosting kept on pleading to everyone to be careful and not to break anything.

Cody, Lilian's boyfriend ask me if I could handle a beer, before tossing me a can. He didn't even wait for my reply. That was my first time drinking a proper alcohol. And I made sure it was the only one I too.

Still, that one can got me drunk. While the other guys chugged down three to four cans without any fuss.

When I thought my drunken state would be my only problem, the bottle finally rolled to her direction.

Yes. Pamela's direction.

Then she was asked to pick between the two options. She picked dare.

If she had planned it with the other girls, I wasn't sure. But the mischievous smile she gave me told me something was about to happen. It was that same smile that got me out of my parent's home in the middle of that night.

" I dare you," Lilian slowly began, " To kiss him," she pointed at me.

After a short cooing sounds from the girls, Pamela majestically walked up to me and planted her lips on mine.

The girls giggled as we kissed, while the boys cleared their already clean throats.

Jackson stormed out of the house slamming the door behind him.
