Leon dropped his potato sack used for collecting metal. He stopped to look down at what struck him. While he was wearing disposable shoes, it didn't stop the pain from being excruciating. He squatted to pick up the peculiar object. It was a USB stick.
He made a quick check to see if anyone was around. Alas, he was alone. While the two Guardian Knights were metres from him, he tried to hide it into his back pocket. The Gaudian Knights didn't have an expression or any visible eyes. They are stone like figures with ancient carvings around their body. The problem with them not having eyes was that Leon couldn't figure out where and what they were looking at.
Leon passed it off as a small little object, which somehow worked while walking past the Knights.
Walking into the larger city felt somewhat refreshing for him. He saw the group that he was meant to be in standing in front of some yellow hovering taxis. He decided in the moment to change directions and run into a blind spot so that his group leaders didn't see him. Behind a tree. He waited for a while before they left so that he didn't bring unwanted attention to himself.
One. Two. Three into four into many. Street lights start turning on, and advertisements are all beaming. Large-scale selling schemes from multi-million brands showed up from left, right, above. But Leon was used to this.
After walking for quite some time, he arrives at his apartment. Houses didn't exist in the city unless if you were extremely rich. If not, you had to share a place with two other people. The place that Leon was staying at was messy to the point that you could not make out a single object. Half of it was his room mates, and the other was him.
"God, so help me here. Guys, can you please clean up?" "See, I don't get why you can't clear up after yourselves."
Leon walked past the monstrosity that was left behind and into his cave of a room. Dark cold and smelt like some foreign food. When he walked in, he always felt like something was missing. And yes, there was something missing. His hoverboard. even after three months, he still wonders what life above the highest buildings looks like today. A small ant is what he was equal to.
A thought crossed his mind. He suddenly remembered the USB stick he found earlier in his back pocket.
When he pulled it out, it was suddenly glowing orange. Leon was slightly startled by this and decided to wait if it stopped. After 5 mins, he decided that he should check it out.
"I should probably go to the community library and use their computers rather than my own," Leon thought to himself. "But how?"
A long and tedious hour had passed, and he figured out a way to get to the library without being caught by the ATP and the Guardian Knights.
Morning had arose, the bubble gum pink and vibrant orange blend of yellow seeped through Leon's rear window view. His apartment complex was near the edge of the city. Landscapes were basically the gates that blocked each other city from connecting to each other. Each city was miles and miles away from each other. Leon always wondered what the rest of the world looked like. But who knows.
The time was 9:50 am, before security checks for offenders in their room. Leon made sure that he was checked in before the day. 10:30, rolled around. He had done a fair share of cleaning up and decided to ask one of his supervisors if he could run to the police office about something he saw. It did come as a suspicion to the supervisor, but they saw him as no harm as they saw him as a weakling and the one always bullied in the pack.
After arrival at the station, he looks around to find a person or anyone with some sort of key. Leon was somewhat good at pickpocketing, so he didn't see this as an issue.
The issue was raised when he saw the specific officer who detained him in the air 3 months back. The officer was G.C Prince, a 36 year old man who has been working at the ATP service since he was 18. He knew the insides of the places and knew when someone was about to plan something of some kind. He was skilled and vigilant.
When his eyes landed onto Leon, he couldn't help but stop and have a quick chat with him. Leon was already having bad hopes for this.
When all was lost, one of the directors of the ATP service stopped him from approaching Leon. It seemed like Prince had to go elsewhere.
While Leon's supervisor went outside for a cigarette break, it gave him the chance to look for his hoverboard.
The office was very close tighten, and there was no real trick to maneuverer your way around the place. there were a few staff who walked by Leon, but they seemed like they were clocking out after a night shift.
There was an empty room with a desk and some documents. Leon walked in.
Just as he goes over to the desk, the lights switch off, and the door locks. Through the window of the door, the officer seemed to not notice Leon walk into the room. All of Leon's plans of recovering his hoverboard were lost within a matter of 15 minutes.
