"Mom, how can you be such a hypocrite? You should stop praying for Michael's forgiveness if you don't do anything about it. What did you expect to happen?" Hesta asked her mother, Evalynn Fang, trying to understand what was on her mind.
"He will return. Michael has always been a good child. He will return to me," Evalynn said with unfounded confidence in her voice.
Hesta shook her head. She hadn't been around Michael much in the last few years, but the few times she'd seen him were enough to tell that he didn't even think about his mother. Michael did not waste a single thought about his mother, and he wouldn't know if she died. Even if she died, Michael would probably not even mourn. Hesta couldn't blame him for that.
