"Aura, she's almost on your tail!" A young girl's voice shouted, it seemed to be guiding and helping someone running from God knows what. The voice was coming from the trees but the source of the voice wasn't seen due to how much the leaves of the trees were.
"Turn left Aura....left" the voice hollered again and suddenly a girl appeared out of nowhere and swiftly turned to the left, her face couldn't be seen because of the speed to which she was running with- Only her white blurry figure and her cascading long red hair could be seen, even with that blurry figure it was obvious that the girl running was a very beautiful and graceful person. She was running very fast as she dodged the trees like she knew how they were positioned. It felt like it wasn't her first time of running at the speed in the forest.
The person chasing her could only use the sounds of her legs to chase her because she was blind and the person was none other than Miss Diane, a fierce looking instructor with brown hair that reached her shoulders and amber eyes that shone like they could literally burn the whole place down to bits and the person she was chasing was the one and only 'Aurora'. The girl who decided to leave all her tasks just to pluck fruits from the trees.
At that moment, a dark skinned girl with curly black hair and grey eyes emerged from the trees. "Aurora, that's Miss Diane, stop running". And Aurora speed suddenly came to a screeching halt as she slipped and fell right on her hands.
Few hours ago
"Laurie, I promise that it won't take long at all, we'll just pluck enough to fill this basket and immediately make our way back here after" begged the young girl named Aurora with snowy skin and blood red hair to another short dark figure that was busy feeding the hens while Aurora stood with a slight frown on her face and her hands at akimbo.
"Aura that place is too dangerous for just the two of us to go to, we barely even made it out alive the last time we went there" the other girl reasoned out to her friend as if trying to tell her that idea she had wasn't a good one but Aurora just rolled her eyes "Oh! Don't such a drama queen Laura, the only reason those beast were able to chase us was because it was almost dark and I read in the books that it's natural for them to come out and hunt at night" she said so non-challantly as if she was talking about the weather and not the fact that they were almost eaten alone by wild boars.
The girl couldn't be more shocked by her words, she knew Aura so well and was ultimately sure that even life and death didn't really matter to her as long as she got what she wanted. She could remember clearly how Aura still stubbornly carried the wild fruits while they were being chased by wild boars in the forest the last time they went there, Aura had also gotten herself very injured just because she didn't want to drop the extra load that was reducing her speed. The girl couldn't help but chuckle as she remembered how red's Aura's face was when she made it out of the jungle.
She looked towards Aurora who was helping her feed the livestock to speed things up do they could go, her exquisite dark skinned face came into view, her grey eyes that twinkled with playfulness and her pink lips that curved into a smile as her cheeks rose while watching her best friend work. She was the exact contrast of Aurora but that's what made them best friends.
"I know Aura, but you know we need to do our tasks before going anywhere so as to not attract any unwanted punishment" she said reminding Aurora of how hard the last punishment was. "And why do I have this nagging feeling that you haven't done yours yet Aura" she questioned as her left eyebrow curved upwards as if waiting for Aura's excuse.
Aura's cheeks immediately turned red as she tinged in embarrassment at being caught by her best friend. She started fidgeting with her hands, trying to come up with a good excuse or explanation for everything "Well..... Miss Diane isn't back from visiting the queen so I thought I-we could quickly be on our way and when we get back, we'd finish it together" she answered as she scratched her head as if chastising herself for telling the truth and not coming up with an excuse or a lie.
Laura just stared at her as if trying to check if she was lying..... Aura was just standing there looking so nervous while waiting for her best friend's next words. After a while, Laura sighed like she was absolutely tired of how Aurora always neglected her work to do something else when their instructor was out.
"That's a very risky things to do Aura, what if she comes back before we get back? We'd get punished". Laura reasoned but Aurora chose to remain silent. Laura furrowed her brows as she looked at Aurora questioningly on why she didn't reply her words but Aurora still didn't answer, it felt like she was silently being persistent and stubborn. Laura on the other hand just stared at Aurora for a while until she gave up on trying to convince her best friend otherwise on this issue. Immediately Aurora saw Laura sigh in defeat she looked at her expectantly for a reply' " We'll for only after I finish my work" she said sternly.
Aura's face brightened up when she heard what Laura's decision was, her dull eyes immediately regained their usual sign again as she happily continued to help Laura feed the chicks.
Laura felt frustrated on how Aurora manipulated her into agreeing because she knew her weakness, but she couldn't really do anything to stop her from going so she might as well follow her there to avoid worrying for her.
